The people who complain about DEI and the like are a small, loud minority to begin with. No one actually gives that much of a fuck about video game characters being a certain race, sex, or gender if the game itself is good. Look at Cyberpunk ffs, that shit’s super gay and I haven’t heard anyone bitching about that “ruining the game” at all. It sucked because it was a bad game with bad writing and bad play experiences. Nobody cares that you can be gay in the game if the game is bad. And if DEI “ruins” a good game for someone, ie Baldur’s Gate 3 is super gay and won Game of the Year for 2023, that doesn’t stop the game from being good and most people understand it’s optional for the player anyhow so normal people just shut up and play and enjoy the story for what it is. People who complain about DEI are just whiners with no critical thinking skills.
