Defund the police is radical, relocate funds isn’t. Gets the same message across while being sensible.

Cops do a Hell of a lot even when they aren’t trained for specific circumstance which leads to abuses of power, brutality, and even breaking of procedure which can lead to unnecessary consequences which give police a bad reputation.

Moving the funds would help our police forces, why do they have to run in when there are maniacs with guns when we could just implement a DMV system / a better background checking method in each US State not just Red V. Blue, and have sensible common sense gun laws instead of being Pro Gun v. Anti Gun.

Reasonable and rational call to change isn’t bad and action can be taken. Give funds towards mental health awareness and education, house the homeless, drug treatment programs, decriminalizing & regulating, Universal Healthcare, etc. all take away from breaking the backs of the cops that serve to make our lives better and by putting cops in charge of all these things they can’t effectively maintain the peace…. Cops don’t want to be political tools of Left or Right, they want to be treated as hard workers who bring a better day because they do and deserve their say.

I have a hard time believing that US electorate could wish for the philosophical shift illustrated by this comic. Going from "individual is all mighty" to "let's try a functional society"? To me, it's like trying to import gay rights into Russia. I mean there could be a shift, but it shall be a veeeery slow one, given the necessary time needed to dissipate the engraved effects of a foundational individualism.

A lot of the problems police face are to do with sift on crime democrat mayor's and DAs who basically allow criminals out to reoffend without consequences such as career criminal Jordan Neely who was allowed on a 4 year rampage in the subways. The laws basically aren't enforced anymore in defund the police cities which has resulted in shoplifting epidemics that devastate local small buisness and cause big chains like wallmart or target to close branches costing jobs all of which results in more poverty, joblessness, crime, drugs use, alcoholism etc.

Police have got to be allowed to enforce the law and the legal system to back up and prosecute offenders. Politicians have got to stop policies that allow crime to thrive.

Cops need to be able to do their jobs. Todays cops are trained in the law and know how to handle cases of domestic violence, mental health issues and theft. We do not need more government agencies to do the job that cops should be doing. A lot of these functions are dangerous and would need police presence anyway.

The police enforce laws, whatever they are so of course they will handle every responsibility from an enforcement perspective. Realistically they will only enforce the subset their executive leadership tells them to focus on.

The fact that all those other programs which already have all their own funding and forces are still failing says a lot about the programs rather than the police who only contribute to them from an enforcement point of view.

Police in big cities are severely overworked. The ones in my town are working 16 hour shifts half the time, dealing with an onslaught of homeless junkie bums that our wonderful Democrat district attorney refuses to prosecute for theft, vandalism, hard drug possession, public intoxication, and shitting on the sidewalk
