Trump has aspirations of grandeur. I'm not sure there is money to do half the stuff he wants to do, such as deporting illegal immigrants. Now he wants to buy Greenland and Canada? Just stick to the things you promised during your campaign and not bite off more than you can chew.

I think it would be an absolute massive positive for Canadas to join the US , but I'd say little doubt they sadly will not , Sovereign countries rarely agree , but it would make good sense economically to join.

Besides, many Americans like and WANT Canada to remain a separate country for a lot of reasons including:
1. Marry a Canadian and get free health care / cheaper drugs in Canada.
2. Canada is a haven to escape the wackiness of the USA such as when the GOP and Trumpsters are in power. My wife and I knew an Indian immigrant to the USA but, to escape the racism in the USA, he moved to Vancouver BC Canada.
