I have nothing but love for my neighbors south of the border, and the states have a lot of neat things that we don't, but America is a goddamned, violent mess right now. Too much spite and division spawned by a two-party system that absolutely DOES NOT have the best interests of the American people at heart. Not to mention the fact that women have had their reproductive rights stripped away by the courts in certain states and gun violence is rampant.
Canada's not perfect either. The healthcare system is a complete mess, the oil sands in my home province produce more carbon than the entire West Coast of the United States, and our PM tends to act like a whiny, spoiled brat whenever he doesn't get his way, but I'd rather live under that system than live in a country teetering on the edge of civil war.

At the very least, they're doing about the same. Both country have politicians messing up the whole countries (in the us, ofc, it's going to be more obvious), protests and crimes, "woke" college students and politicians in Canada. I dont mind the Canadian people, most of them are definitely normal but there's a reason why Canada's in the position it is in.

Are you nuts? We don't want to join the mess down there. It's already too big and has too many people of differing views and backgrounds. Plus, many Americans don't respect Canada or Canadians. Canada is actually a pretty laid back place to live for the most part. People who want to spew hatred will always end up with problems no matter where they go. I would say yes in the fact that, for the most part, Canadians and Americans are fairly similar in wants, desires, values, culture, etc.
I would have to say no in the aspects of military and political culture though. The two countries are extremely different in those regards.
