Trump wants to reduce the power of the "deep state." Is this a move that increases or decreases democracy?

Some would argue that this increases democracy because it weakens a group of people who have too much political power and are not even democratically elected. Others would argue that this decreases democracy because it gives more power to the president. What do you think?

We do have some issues with unelected bureaucrats having usurped the constitutional powers of the Executive and Legislative Branches, and a lack of transparency accompanies that. Citizens'' constititutional rights have also been violated by these bureaucrats and other parts of the Executive Branch. That of course should not be ignored.

The so called "Deep State" ( if it exists) is in my opinion individuals and organizations who are undetected yet have significant influence in Government policy. Transparency is vital in my opinion to any democracy. Thus any action to increase transparency is desirable. Voters must know that the people they elect are actually in charge.

Trump considers anybody and everybody who disagrees with him as the "deep state". Just like he considers every news outlet reporting negatively about him as "fake news".
