It amazes me that people need the government to come in and save them from themselves.
They told us four years ago that TikTok was Chinese spyware. I banned it personally.
But I’m against the government getting involved, because next they’re gonna go after X.

Not because of free speech. I think the main reason they won’t get rid of social media is because it makes to much money. Businesses and people with large followers can make a lot of money by advertising on social media.
Just like cigarettes and alcohol. Cigarettes and alcohol are bad for people’s health but the most likely reason that’s not going away and the government won’t ban it is because it makes too much money.

@Deadpool99 Many business such as clothing businesses of electronics advertise online or maybe try to get Instagram influencers with large number of followers to advertise for them. Since social media advertisements help business sell their stuff. The more money they make. These businesses also pay taxes to the government. The government needs money to run the country. I imagine it’s much more likely due to money than freedom of speech that social media will very likely not be banned by the government
Alcohol and cigarettes companies likely won’t be banned either despite alcohol and cigarettes being bad for people’s health. These companies make a ton of money which the government can get taxes from.
In many countries the higher amount of money they earn they higher amount of taxes they have to pay
