Pete's Hegseth was confirmed by Senate to be the next Secretary of Defense by the 50-50 voting, with the vice-president J. D. Vance casting the tie-breaking vote.

All Democratic senators votes against the confirmation of Hegseth as well as 3 Republicans: Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski and Mitch McConell.
