Pete Hegseth is doing a great job. He has raised recruitments to more than the quotas. He was in charge of the mission to Iran where the US blew up their underground nuke facility. Now he is blowing drug smugglers out of the water, keeping fentanyl from reaching out shores. He has established new standards of fitness and conduct. He has really turned the military around from a laughing stock to a fearsome fighting force.

Military standards have improved, recruitment figures have risen, and moral has improved. Border security at the southern border and across the Gulf coast has improved reducing drug and human trafficking. Security has been improved in several cities that were in rebellion. Foreign terrorist threats have been neutralized. So far, so good...

His military career boils down to being a civil affairs platoon leader. Yes, he saw deployment but he barely has combat education, nevermind experience. His position was one of those made up spots you give to liabilities.

Then he served as a military commentator for Fox news morning show.

Look. Maybe he isn't the failure he reads as on paper. But is there really any US citizen who thinks this is your best and brightest? Most capable military and strategic mind of the country?

At best he is utterly mediocre for a much lower position. At worst he was a constant failure who somehow stumbled upwards. Neither qualifies him for the current post.

and yet he has run circles around his predecessor after only 9 months. there is a reason that democrats did not want to confirm him.

How so? He has had fiasco leaks of national plans. Committed war crimes without even being in a war. Did some schoolboy talk to generals a hundred times as qualified and got all pouty they did not applaud.

And if for some reason you felt the murder of fishermen is a point of pride for your military, he isn't even standing up for it. He is actively trying to shift blame.

I am all for hearing how he has done something. But what? I know they are trying to spin a narrative of great recruitment but 2024 recruited 225 000+ across all sectors. 2025 recruited a, admittedly not bad, 135 000 across all sectors.

Even the area that should be a win is only a win in propaganda not in reality.
