He’s my governor. I voted for him twice. His general leadership skills and judgment are good. I like the direction he is going with Florida in general. There are policy stances he has voiced support for, but has been unable to deliver to date that I agree with. The main hold up has been in the Florida Legislature. Some of that might change after this election. We cleaned up pretty well this midterm, so I’d expect more to come.
Its a shitty time to be Republican in the Rust Belt though
@WhiteBoyChill I hear you. Hold the line.

Thanks for MHO!

100% negative. He's yet another lying hypocritical megalomaniac. He embraced idiocrasy by taking a stand against what he "thought" critical race theory was about without ever knowing what it was. He withheld information about Florida deaths during the height of Covid and raided a former health worker's home under the guise of "stolen government property" because she outed the information he withheld.
He champions himself as a protector of "freedoms" while at the same time suppressing everything from books to school curriculums, in the name of "protecting our children". He won't condemn neo-Nazism. He allowed his Surgeon General to put out that IDIOTIC report recently about Covid, which was laughed at by anyone who understood science, YET, the tagline was "Florida won't suppress the TRUTH"!!! Fuck no, we'll just MAKE IT UP!
DeSantis is another version of Trump, which is exactly WHY Trump is going to attack him like a son-of-a-bitch from here on in, especially if he wants the nomination. Sit back and watch two pathological liars, wrapped in American flags, go at it.
While I think he re-opened things too quickly in Florida, I would have been cool with it if he hadn't of lied about the stats and just said " Yes, the risk is there and you should take EVERY precaution, but I believe the economic devastation would be worse". But he lied about that too his reasons too.
@KayMay you might enjoy this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IsiPBcVLVrk
@KayMay It isn't what it means to ME - it's what those who came up with it expressed it as being. If you really care, look that up rather than what Ted Cruz, Trump or politicians say it is. It's an intellectual theory, and it's a strong one backed by a lot of history. I'll tell you what it's NOT - it's not Marxist, or Communist, or telling you to be ashamed of being white. It says "look at history, look at the people in power (in the USA) and see how it pertains to racial injustice". There's really no denying it, as this quote exemplifies:
"“Critical race theory ultimately is calling for a society that is egalitarian, a society that is JUST, and a society that is inclusive, and in order to get there, we have to name the barriers to achieving a society that is inclusive,” Priscilla Ocen of Loyola Law School says. “Our government at the moment is essentially afraid of addressing our history of inequality and if we can’t address it, then we can’t change it.”
That's exactly correct. If you can't honestly look at what happened in history and recognize that it was fucked up, be it about the treatment of black or brown people, Native Americans, or any group, then you can't change future behaviors. Do you want to deny the atrocities of our governments past and focus only on what was good? That's ignorant, and that's one of the barriers.
If you don't think there's been a pervasive attitude in our governments, legal system and individuals throughout our country, that blacks are inferior, even subhuman, you're in denial too. Go and read the Cornerstone Speech by Alexander Stephans of the Confederacy.
Not to mention that we could be utter failures and still make more money than a college educated black person.
What a sad leftist. Go cry somewhere else
@WhiteBoyChill You're really too ignorant to even recognize the concepts being discussed here, let alone understand them. Go play your video games and don't bother the adults, child.
You call yourself an adult?
Every time I see you you’re always bitching about something like a six year old
@WhiteBoyChill This is a format for discussion, idiot. There's a lot to bitch about because there a lot of fools like you who don't understand things. And there's a lot wrong with the government and judicial system of this country, and the misinformation that abounds. That's why it has to be addressed, and fixed. That's what the adults do. We try to make it better. Now, go back to your Bud Light and your video games - the adults are talking.
You aren’t addressing shit. Run for public office if you want to make a difference.
You’re literally too incompetent to even realize all you do is complain and voice your frustrations on the internet.
@WhiteBoyChill You should stop misusing the word "literally", and learn what incompetent actually means, because your statement just shows more of your ignorance. You can't even comprehend the idea of wanting to fix what's wrong with the society we live in. Furthermore, no one is forcing you to read my responses or respond to them, yet you choose to. Then, you spew your garbage as if it's wisdom and have zero to offer to EVER make anything better.
So once again, go back to your video games, be another brick in the wall, and cog in the wheel, and support your Fuhrer. Or just go away.
Again I was just pointing out that your conduct on this site does not resemble that of a mature adult.
You’re always getting pissed over child like stuff
@WhiteBoyChill "child like stuff". You mean like right-wing nuts trying to take away our freedoms? DeSantis trying to tell you what to think, or what you can't talk about because he doesn't like it? That kind of child stuff?
God. You’re being such a baby about everything like always.
Thanks for proving my point. You’re pissed you can’t have things your way
@WhiteBoyChill This is why you're stupid. You don't even know the subject matter. Do you even KNOW about the law he got passed that was just partially blocked by a judge? Do you have any idea of the intent, or implications? You don't. You have not valid point, except to say "thank you for speaking up against an Orwellian Governor and ridiculous law". If you knew something about what he does, you might be able to talk about, but you choose to remain ignorant. That's why I say you're stupid - because you CHOOSE to be ignorant on a subject, yet think your comments are somehow valid.
All I know is I’m perfectly calm, while somebody else here is triggered and choosing to let Trump ruin their life.
Man up and grow a pair.
@WhiteBoyChill as he has many largely due to his negligence.
@WhiteBoyChill LOL You have no clue what you're talking about, dude, as usual.
I don’t care what you think. I’m just annoyed that you behave like my six year old cousin.
@WhiteBoyChill You don't care, yet you're annoyed? LMAO. Just stop replying. You don't make sense anyway.
Why shouldn’t I be annoyed? It’s my expectation that an adult is capable of behaving like one.
@WhiteBoyChill Adults address real issues, like adults. You neither care (apathy) nor possess the knowledge (ignorance). Go away.
Except what we’re talking about here aren’t actual issues. The fact that you don’t like Rom Desantis should have no bearing on how you live the rest of your life
@WhiteBoyChill It doesn't, you dolt. LOL You just presumed so and blathered on, and on, and on, ad nauseum, oblivious to the fact that some people, if given enough power, can fuck up other people's lives. Be blissfully ignorant - as you said, you're perfectly calm. Now please, go away.
Again the problem here is that you’re complaining about things you can’t fix. Work on what you can fix.
@WhiteBoyChill Of course it can be fixed. It starts with putting people in power who are decent, honorable, not Draconian and who believe in "liberty and justice for all" - the type of person that DeSantis is not. This is where you fail to understand that "some folks are worse than others" when it comes to governing. You seem to be getting your rocks off trying to tell me how to think. You also don't know the difference between a complaint and a criticism that happens to be accurate, which by the way, is known as a correct assessment. You haven't addressed anything about the man in this question, just complained yourself about me. So, like I keep asking you, go away.
Well far as I’m concerned your criticism isn’t valid and real men don’t complain.
Not to mention you still aren’t convincing anybody
@WhiteBoyChill Nobody convinces anyone in a political discussion, regardless of who has the facts on their side or obvious evidence, unless you're smart enough to consider facts and evaluate behaviors. You're a perfect example of that. And if that's your position, don't even bother to post a response to any question at all. If you have your mind made up without being open to researching facts, you're a waste of time to talk to in the first place. In the case of DeSantis, if you look at his record of words and deeds and STILL think he's A-OK, I have nothing more to say to you. I can only shake my head.
When I think you know something about being a real man, dude, I'll ask you. Good Lord, you're dense. You don't know the difference between complaining and criticizing. I'm criticizing, and even offering solutions. You have no idea the work I do offline to facilitate positive change. Please, for the umpteenth time, go away.
Generally positive. He was a voice of reason in the sea of Covid panic, and brave enough to keep things open when everyone else was screaming at him to shut back down. I don't agree with ALL his decisions, but then, that's true of pretty much anyone.
I can agree with his stuff about keeping degenerates out of schools, but mostly neutral. I know a lot of Republicans delusionally think he's Trump 2.0, but forget he was in bed with Disney for years and is in the pockets of as many corporations as any other standard Republicans politician. I mean damn, how many times do you people have to keep getting fooled to learn not to trust politicians?
But yeah, neutral. At least he's not certifiably insane like AOC.
He's going to Rock the Casbah. He's on fire, and he's not a pussy like the rest.
He showed the whole country how to deal with a pandemic.
You mean lie about the numbers and deaths and send agents to break into a state employee's home who got fired for trying to tell the truth? Is that what you mean?
@loveslongnails more like taking care of the elderly by not sticking them in a nursing home with infected patients. Not keeping the public schools locked down and not firing employees who did not want to be vaccinated. Florida fared a whole lot better than New York or California.
"like taking care of the elderly by not sticking them in a nursing home with infected patients"
Here's a report from Aug, 2021:
New AARP report shows 237 resident deaths occurred in Florida’s nursing homes in the four weeks ending August 22, 2021
ST. PETERSBURG, FLA. – AARP today released the Nursing Home COVID-19 Dashboard, which tracks nursing home data including cases, deaths, resident and staff vaccination rates. The new report shows that Florida leads the nation with 237 nursing home resident deaths from COVID-19, representing 21 percent of 1,125 total COVID-19 deaths occurring in nursing homes across the United States. Florida also has the highest number of nursing home staff who are dying of COVID-19, with 13 deaths occurring in the state over the same time period, representing 17 percent of 76 total staff deaths nationally.
While the vaccination rate of Florida’s nursing home staff increased from 45 percent to 48 percent in the latest dashboard report, Florida is one of only three states still below 50 percent in vaccination of staff at nursing homes (joining Missouri and Louisiana).
The Sunshine State continues to be far below the industry standard of 75 percent staff vaccination and the national average of 63.5 percent.
Only seven percent, or approximately 50 of Florida’s nearly 700 nursing homes, have met the industry standard and vaccinated at least 75 percent of their staff.
@loveslongnails Florida had a lot of nursing home deaths because they have more nursing homes and elderly people. Percentage wise shows that Florida was way ahead of the rest of the country.
Go get your data straight, if you even use any. Florida is in the middle of pack in deaths per 100,000 due to Covid, and there's serious questions about how they arrived at their own numbers to being with, because of DeSantis. California is about 11% better.
And by the way, if you worked in a nursing home and didn't want to be vaxxed, you should've been given the option to use your vacation, sick leave or comp time (all with pay), until it ran out, and then been given a leave of absence awaiting further review. There WAS no other line of defense but the vax and separation at that time.
Hmmm... no, they do not, not at all.
@loveslongnails ut turned out the vaccine didn;t really keep people from spreading the virus.
Bullshit. Even in 2021, several studies showed that it reduced spread. It didn't prevent it but reduced it. New studies have also shown this to be true, but then again, when have you EVER looked up anything in depth to support your opinion, hmm?

His response to the recent Hurricane Ian demonstrates he's a guy that gets things done.
Good as far as a major party candidate goes. Seems like an effective leader with a nice family. Would definitely be more acceptable to more of the nation than Trump.
Very positive. I think he would make a great president.
Extremely positive. He is the only one I would vote for in 2024. If anyone other than him becomes incumbent in 24, I’m not voting
This guy is one smart man I'd like to see him run for president maybe he could help fix some of the stupid in the world
Neutral. I don't like his policies, namely about abortion rights, but I respect effective and competent leaders.
I'm a registered republican but I'm negative on him.
Just voted for him. I like how he kept Florida open
I can agree with some of the stuff he does and others not. Politicians in general are shit.
Very positive. He will run for President in 2024
Like Trump except he doesn't brag on himself as much
He's my governor. Desantis is ok. I think he's a decent man and a good leader.
And somehow Trump isn’t?
@WhiteBoyChill: Look how they both act and speak pubically? You can't tell that one has sense and the other doesn't.
Speaks a bunch of 💩 out of his mouth.
I really dont see the issue with Trump. Its always just been a bunch of sensitive people who get their feelings hurt.
And neither has the media ever spoken a truthful word about him
As a Floridian, I think he's demonstrated himself as a strong leader.
Typical. Doesn’t give a damn about anyone, likes you to believe he does.
I like how he makes the demon rats almost as mad as Trump did.
a tyrant who only cares about himself with no interest in policy... just culture war bullshit... which is more than enough for his party.
though, he does run his state a better than Texas.
At the end of the day, Too "inside the box" to solve many problems.
Very positive. I want him to be president.
If Trump had opted out, he'd be my guy.
Positive. He is working to do good.
Strongly negative.
Never heard of him.
Don't know who that is
I don't even know who he is
Never heard of the person
Negative.
Very positive.
