If it's inevitable, it's unavoidable. That's one of the reasons for The Great War. The great powers knew war was coming. They didn't know when or what sides everyone would take, but it would happen. Probably over the territories of the failing Ottoman Empire and later Hapsburg Empire, but when and who would take what was not known. Germany knew that at their current strength they could probably win against Russia and France. Later, when those two empires fell, the result was less certain. They'd lose if Russia finished its rail lines. So, they decided that war was probably better then, rather than later. If Franz Joseph hadn't dithered after his heir Franz Ferdinan was assassinated, Serbia would have been reabsorbed and strengthened Germany's ally.
Nuclear War will wipe out everything.
Cockroaches and humans will survive. The population of humans may drop from 8 billion to 80,000, a 100,000 to 1 ratio, but 80,000 is 4 times the number needed to repopulate the earth with humans as proven by the Toba eruption 74,000 years ago that reduced the number of humans to only 20,000.

I think at least a minor even is probable and hundreds of millions would die immediate or in time. I suspect humanity has devolved enough to make it possible.
birds in the vacinity would be gone... theyd migrate back. any birds near chernobyl?

Excluding Israel, the USA is the most warlike country in the world. Therefore, the USA may initiate a war against a major country such as Russia or China and cease to exist.
Yes.
It would be a poor choice. This current "leader" is full of them, too.
Something that is inevitable is indeed unavoidable.
I don't agree that nuclear war is inevitable/unavoidable.
Nuclear war means MAD. Nobody wants it. Putin could have used Tactical Nukes, but he deferred hoping Trump was elected. Trump will head it off with Russia but China is a question.
Nuclear weapons are old-fashioned. China will come out with the new bio weapon and the Democrats will support it 100%.
I think that the probability of a nuclear holocaust is more likely if Iran or North Korea are allowed to have nuclear missiles.
@msc545 Very true.
Well the dogs and cats around Chernobyl are doing OK. Some genetic changes were found recently but all good.
Two-thirds of Humanity, and the living would envy the dead.
It's not going to happen
People have been talking about this shit for years. If someone really had the power and resources to do it then why haven't they?
Because they don't.
This is scare tactics used by mass media which clearly works well.
I can't imagine living a life in fear of a nuclear war.
Fkn garbage
It is foolishness to look back several decades and claim that determines what happens over thousands of years. According to your illogical statements, there never have been wars because there are always decades and often much longer between major wars.
To be clear I never said wars never happened I said nuclear war is never happened. Don't twist this into something that it's not. Your question specifically mentions nuclear war. There has never been one and again there never will be.
The best predictor of the future is the past.
Screenshot this and message me when Nuclear war breaks out.
I'll wait...
It has already happened with the nuclear war against Japan and in the next major war, it will happen again because always, without exception, in major wars countries use the weapons and technology available.
It's not inevitable. Skynet said so!
Haha
