Are violent videogames the cause of real-life violence?

Recent studies have completely discredited the fact that violent videogames promote actual violence. The actual cause is a combination of online radicalizing material and untreated mental illness. So why are lawmakers still freaking out over regulating video games?

We'll don't know but I don't appreciate hearing the teens say "you are stupid... KILL HIM!!!". And it's some real person on the other side. I used to try to shoot space invaders... that is different.

but to be fair, I used to go around my house shooting fake arrows at my friend playing cowboy and indian. I never hurt anyone. We used real guns at times too, always safely... shotting cans generally.

I suspect it isn't good for the brain in general...

Video games encourage violence in young people, but they also show them the dangers that exist in the world. The bad thing is that in action films that promote violence, they show men fighting and killing several armed men with only their hands, which makes young people think that in real life this can be done and they have a distorted vision of reality. It would be much better if these films showed that in reality, in these cases, they are shot and left dead on the ground.
