I've heard a lot of people say they're the main cause of most of the violence in the country, but they never explain why so I'm confused
Just like a magician uses misdirection, politics, people, and fanatics will always point the finger at things that look like a perfect scape goat.
Rather than realize that it's more than likely how they are brought up. They want to deny that it's that way and find the easy way out.
I spent my life playing violent video games and watching grizzly horror movies. And not once have i lifted a fist, finger, foot, knee, or body part to assault, harm, or inflict physical pain into another human being.
Using video games to justify violence in people, is about as solid as saying someone that plays GTA is more likely to steal cars for a living than find an actual job.
Its 100% Grade A Horse Excriment,
I've only seen one game in my entire life that creates violence and its always indirect, and that's the Nintendo Wii, and it's mostly because people don't put the wrist loop through their hands, and it goes flying and can hit someone.

Which is quite hard to grasp that many don't because you would think humans would be smarter than they are but meet and talk to them it won't take long to be provided evidence of people believing in stuff that has no factual bases hell most humans are religious which is something that literally cannot be proven and is a faith based belief system.
Simply people just like believing in shit lol.01 Reply
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI don't think videogames cause violence but I think if any young person is at all mentally unstable and does not have good parental guidance it could feed any negative or violent thoughts that they might be having. It's not just video games some psychologists believe violent movies can cause kids to become desenstized to violence, also with teens some think that violent pornography can desensitize young mind etc.

+1 yPlenty of people and kids play violent video games and don't kill people. some have issues mentally. there is a whole thing going on. video games are just getting the blame like Dungeons and Dragons did before video games. Or the Beatles or Elvis twisting his hips

605 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. There's many reasons. The main one being that it draws attention away from the real reasons people are violent.
Films and TV depict plenty of violence and lots of kids watch those unrestricted, and yet we never see that in the news because it makes a lot of money for the right people.
If they were honest and said poverty, drug addiction, mental health were the main causes of violence then serious steps would need to be taken to address it. If they say it's videogames then all they need to do is ban some stuff and people will stay ignorant and happy.10 Reply
+1 yPeople say that because in the military, troops need a LOT of training to shoot another human. Up through Vietnam war, most soldiers never fired their weapons. The military developed training to help train troops to get over this aversion. One of the tactics is to desensitize troops by giving them human-shaped targets, and simulate combat using blanks/lasers. This is very similar to the desensitizing to violence we see in today’s video games. You can now kill very realistic looking targets.
Not that I agree 100% with this theory, but that’s the general line of thinking.00 Reply6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. When everyone has a different opinion on why a problem exists then no one will agree to fix it unless the fix be focused on addressing their specific reasons. Every dumb suggestion, even the dumbest imaginable, only needs to convince one to contribute to the cacophony.

+1 yBecause when parents let their young developing kids play adult video games and also do not tell their kids that what they are seeing and doing in said adult games is fictional and not real life.
Their minds become molded into thinking that what they see on the screen is real.
I’m saying this as a gamer, I should add. My parents let me play mature games before I was 18 but I knew what I saw was not an accurate representation of reality cause my parents raised me right011 Reply- +1 y
You look at how most young parents raise their kids these days they give their kids anything they want just so they don’t have to deal with them. Anything to keep their kid quiet and not move around.
I’ve seen many instances of this. I didn’t ask for your input either, but since you want to go there I suppose I needed to say this.
Parents these days are fucken lazy af cause they don’t wanna to uphold the responsibilities of being parents and be around to positively influence kids.
Because if you actually pay attention to a lot of young kids these days they’re growing up really fucked up. Why? Because their parents are too sucked in on their phones etc. - +1 y
I don’t give a shit about giving you stats. I’m simply saying from what I’ve seen for myself.
You seem pressed that I’m not agreeing with your stance, maybe you play video games and took offense to it. But if you actually read what I said I too play video games and don’t agree that the games are what causes violence. It’s the sheer lack of parental involvement - +1 y
Did you see the manifesto of the young piece of shit that shot up the independence parade?
He legit made a video of him putting in the same laughter from COD zombies. - +1 y
Or the kid who shot up Uvalde.
Had no father figure, and played nothing but violent video games.
I’m done with this conversation you’re a 21 year old kid that barely hit the age of completion of the cerebrum. - +1 y
The fact you think that is proof says it all really. Cherry picking one case out of millions is the exact reason why it's not a real thing because we have millions of other cases not linked at all, just one is literally nothing when it comes to studies that's more of an anomaly and just something the kid was into don't mean it caused the violence lol.

So it's video games fault... not guns.
- +1 y
It’s neither ones fault
You're just an Idiot, deeply disturbed individuals always blame this or that video game made me do it. In the end they are just ruthless Serial Killers and If you're Stupid enough to believe them , I would put a watch on your house, because you're a future Serial Killer

+1 yBecause people want something to blame rather than facing hard truths in front of them. Blame a medium that is merely a weak influence compared to reality.
