Do you think video games are to blame for all the mass shootings?
😂 😂 😂
No, I don't believe they do. I believe a lot of it just boils down to parents not parenting and keeping their kids occupied with productive means and attention to keep them out of trouble. If you look at how a lot of kids are raised you see many of them being babysat with an electronic device, namely the phone.
Now what I say next here may trigger people or be a very unpopular opinion, but I believe mass shootings become a domino affect in the sense that it seems like whenever one happens, the perpetrators try to either outdo the one gaining the headlines. I also believe the media is to blame for publicizing them left and right, giving the shooters press for a heinous act. I say stop reporting about the mass shootings and giving it attention.
Back to the video games for a second. The ESRB exists for a reason. That is the rating system used for video games and the content they contain for appropriate audiences and age groups. So, if you have a game rated "M" or "Adults Only" and a kid get their hand on it, is it really the game's fault or the company's fault or is it the fault of the parents for not using that rating system and gaging their children's level of maturity and ability to distinguish fantasy from reality? I played dozens of games growing up across the rating scale and turned out just fine. I was playing Halo, GTA, Resident Evil, etc. When I was like 10 years old, but even then I knew these were just games, a medium of escape, not something to emulate. Nor did I feel like carrying out things I saw in those games in reality. Games are not to blame it is the parents.
Not necessarily, but they do change the mindset.
Bloody mindset takes over if you play too much of the violence games. Diplomacy starts leaving the mind.
Hence I play children games.
The difference is in non American countries most people don't have guns or if they do their for hunting not for self defence or as a dick extension. We all know pilots are trained using computer flight simulators so it's not unreasonable to think video games are having a similar effect on people's brains.
Has anyone considered a link to the bible. I bet most mass shooters own one
By THAT “logic” Mass shootings are caused by Milk! Because I absolutely guarantee you, EVERY mass shooter, EVER drinks, or at some point drank milk… unless they are lactose intolerant!
OMG, Vaccines! Jesus, vaccines must cause mass shootings, because EVEN the lactose intolerant mass shooters, got their childhood vaccines!
Exactly, have you noticed that since sales of alternatives to traditional milk, like almond milk and oat milk have increased so have shootings?
No of course not. It depends on the place where guns are more available. You see Japan and Korea. It's the proof already. I also used to play PUBG and feet fire but I don't want to kill anyone lmao. I love playing those shooting games but I am not a murderer.
You sure you dont want to after playing PUBG now? I heard things! :p
PUBG is banned in India lol. Due to political hate for China after Covid. No I don't want to. I'm not sadist.

You know with enough fear tactics with enough propaganda day in and day out it takes 14 days to brainwash a human being just think if you were to play those games 24 hours a day for years I have always felt since day one did those games came out it was a bad thin
There's going to be a lot of people that disagree with me because they're not going to be honest one other person honest with themselves that's okay when your kid kill somebody when they don't put enough time into their kids and the video game as more time than the parent does with that kid you tell me difference I believe did these kids are being brainwashed in a matter of way by constantly being on
To a small extent, yes. There are people out there who are very impressionable, and if they play violent video games, they'll be encouraged to do violent things. That happened to those two Columbine killers. True, they were already messed up to begin with, but their favorite entertainment was snuff films and violent video games. It conditioned them to where they just decided to go gunning classmates down. The massacre itself became a video game come to life. When they reached the 'game over' stage, they killed themselves.
Adam Lanza was a different case. As far as I know, Lanza did not spend a lot of time doing video games, so video games were NOT a factor in his behavior, so it can't be said that video games are responsible for ALL mass shootings.
lol you actually believe this shit?
look at that graph buddy. that is a definitive answer that NO video games are not responsible for the rise in gun violence in our country. other things are.
Not sure why you ask the question as it seems like you have your own answer.
Regardless, the short answer is now but thinks are not that straightforward in situations like this one. As much as I don’t think they’re to blame, I wouldn’t be surprised if they have a negative effect on people prone to do it, assuming other negative enablers are in place (e. g. access to guns, social isolation, dysfunctional households etc.)
The graphs all perfectly demonstrate that video games do NOT lead to gun violence. At all. there's zero connection. Its other factors that play into that
Lol its not my job man. They already did the work.
But hey if YOU think there's a connection between video games and mass shootings, lets see your evidence. I already presented mine
Ok prove its bogus. How is it bogus? Do you have a better graph? Lets see it.
From what my mom said, the last time they mentioned “violent video games” on the “news” conflating it to mass shootings, that they have been blaming video games and music (not any one style, basically anything they don’t like). That the only thing they don’t cite as the problem, is the lack of any personal responsibility!
My father said, most mass shootings are flash flag operations instigated by powerful people to condition the public to accept gun control. It is easier to enslave people when they have no means of fighting back. It is the nature of rulers to want total control.
If you look at the amount of people that play violent video games and the amount of mass shootings and the amount of mass shootings when the shooter plays violent video games.
It's very unlikely that video games are to blame. Maybe in 1 or 2 cases they are partly to blame but they always have other bigger mental issues.
No, something else is going on. Problems with society that should be addresses instead of looking at the tool.
Need to get to the root of the problem on why people feel the need to go shoot anyone and solve that.
not all the way i think we are dealing with someone who is already angry and wants revenge and wants to take it out on someone too. maybe the violence does inspire some to do more with it but we can not blame entertainment on everything. a mad man is gonna do it no matter what.
They've been doing this shit for decades at this point.
Anything to distract from the real issues - mental health and legal guns.
Blame shootings on anything young people like.
If video games are to blame for everything, why isn't Gordon Ramsay blamed for cooking simulator?
Why aren't famous chefs blamed for their influence of cooking video games?
Truth is, people do stuff in real life before they even get the idea to do it in a video game... So blame life in itself for those things happening, not the game
No, if it's not videogames being blamed then it's music or movies. They're always looking for something to blame instead of dealing with the real issues.
Yeah, playing Dragon Ball z games makes me go out in public and yell until I turn Super Saiyan. 😂😂
Damn shoulda put that on tik tok!
No, they're not. Just because you're a fan of video games it doesn't mean you're a killer. Besides I'm sure that many shooters didn't play video games.
You know violent games or movies they have age restrictions or warning.. i guess people already sick in the heads and they dont want to admit it and start blaming games & movies
No, lots of people play violent video games and I everyone will see some form of violent entertainment in their life. That doesn't mean everyone will go out shooting people.
Psychological medication is much more likely a cause than video games. Big pharma is way bigger than the gaming industry, so it can never be painted as the bad guy.
It is the stupidest excuse in the history of stupid excuses.
I mean, statistically, wouldn't it be more accurate to say
Americans* are to blame for mass shootings...
No! THE GUY... PLAYED... VIDEO GAMES? DEAR ME HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE IN THIS DAY AND AGE ONLY SICKOS PLAY VIDEO GAMES!!!
NO LOL. like everyone around my age plays videos games lol so with that logic shouldn't we all be running aroud shooting each other. well i don't see that happening lol so theirs your proof
