Highest cost in the world, very poor performance ranking, no constitutional authority. Isn't the time to get rid of the Department of (Mis) Education?

The federal government has no constitutional authority to be involved in the education system. That is a right reserved for state and local governments. For that reason alone the government has no business having a "Department of Education."

Sure, in an authoritarian state where a central government wants to program our children to be obedient subjects a federal government can run the schools. But in a country that is supposed to be the freest in the world and the world's beacon of liberty there is no place for a forced educational system controlled by a central command.

Add to that the fact that our public schools are failing our children at a cost per student higher than any other country in the world and it becomes clear that the only thing the "Department of Education" is teaching anybody is that the taxpayers are being fleeced, our children are seeing their futures doomed and our constitution is being turned into a joke.

Privately run schools are turning out kids with far better academic performance at literally half the cost of the government run schools.

And you want to talk about racism? What could be more racist than the decades of failed education that the Democrats doomed inner city black and minority students to endure? For generations they have been forced into these corrupt government-run so called "education" mills run by Democrats in a corrupt alliance with teachers unions that have been dooming these people to a life of poverty and despair. They figured out how to force taxpayers to pay for this genocidal farce masquerading as an education system.

Get rid of it. Give parents a choice of where they want to send their kids to school and stop forcing taxpayers to pay for a bloated corrupt education system that is turning out kids who can't read and write or do arithmetic and have no knowledge of history. A robot-minded dumbed down education may be good for keeping a corrupt government in power, but it is not good for THE PEOPLE!

Yes! It blows me away that we have a high percentage of high schools that have not one student testing proficient in math or reading, yet there are people saying, "we need to throw more money at it". It's not working. Time to change what we are doing.

I just can't understand how the left - which claims to be the most educated political view, and claims to care so much about minorities and them having opportunities can read articles that state that At 13 Baltimore City high schools, zero students tested proficient on 2023 state math exam. That's not 13 kids at one school. This is EVERY student at 13 schools.

And they seemingly don't have a single problem with it because Baltimore is Biden's home state and the education system is run by dems.

Baltimore City Public Schools (BCPS) spends around $22,424 per student. This is one of the highest amounts spent per student in the United States for large school systems. My kids went to public universities for half that much per year. If you include their dorms and meal plans, yeah it equals Baltimore's spending.

You have to be a complete moron to not acknowledge the problem, or claim the problem is a lack of resources.

Yes, the DOE is just a front for the teachers union. We should be having school choice nationwide. Parents count take that $20,000 that is the average per pupil expenditure in the US and sent their kids to private school or even home school them. No longer having a monopoly on education, the public schools will have to up their game if they want to stay relevant.
