What does it mean to be a decent human being?

Yes, I am decent.

I think I can do better. However, I don't want to do better, because this world does not deserves it..

But my wisdom is growing..

And it has made me realise that 75% of those world does not deserves better.. however there is 25% of this world that is Good..

Hence, I should not Sit Back and watch it Burn, I need to Get up, build myself up and Build and Alliance for that 25% of what is Good in the world.

I find myself lucky to have Gift of Inner monologue and Morality without need to religion, or religious Books.

I need to do some fixing in this world for Good People like you GreenYogi!. People like you deserve better!..

Absolutely. It doesn’t even require you to go above and beyond, I’d say just generally moving through life being kind is decent enough in and of itself. If you can’t fulfill that baseline level of honestly very low effort, then…. yikes

I used to think so but caregiving has taught me otherwise. I have lost all of my friends except this stoner who only wants free rides and twenty bucks. My whole neighborhood hates me because of the fights. I tried to go in the car to cook off and not argue. The HOA told I can be ticketed for sitting in my own garage in my car while she's having a meltdown

I don’t go out of my way to inflict harm on others
If that makes me decent then sure

But I also don’t drop what Im doing to help out people in need
I do look after myself with a degree of selfishness
Only caring about the people who are active in my life and not random strangers I never met nor talk to

In that sense Im not so decent

I would say Im neutral. Not saving the world but not helping destroy it either

Yes, I try to treat people with empathy, kindness, and respect in order to be a decent human being. I support helping those in need and upholding honesty and integrity. Even though I am not perfect, I strive to become a better person every day by constantly improving myself and learning from my mistakes.

All humans suck. We all lie, talk about people, are vain, do things that seem good but do it to be praised by others, all put our needs above others, gossip, lie by omission.

There are degrees to evil. Not everyone murders and rapes but all people do bad things and if our thoughts were known by others... others probably might stay clear of us.

No, God showed me that I rebelled against him in the wilderness and how my lustful porn addiction is sowing seeds of destruction. I also am disobedient to my parents, and have turned away from loving women by having a hardened heart. So ya i feel extremely convicted now and dont know how to ask for forgiveness. Define what you mean by decent. Is a person who is always truthful, and honest a good moral and ethical belief decent? That would be a question to a circumstance not something that can be generalized as a whole and self evaluation could change based on a reaction to something said or done at particular time.

I'd say I'm a decent person, I think. I wouldn't say I'm a good person, but I think decent is fair and I do try to be decent even to people I don't like unless they really piss me off.
