So, back to DNA. Who? How long? For what purposes? Do parents control access to their kids DNA? Should employers or insurers have any access at all? When? Why? Police? What if (it's trending this way by the way) criminality has SOME MINOR inherited predispositions? Now what?

I am fine with the current situation with HIPAA. This means that the data that HIPAA permits to be shared (and why) I am fine with and the data that HIPAA does not permit to be shared (and why) I am fine with. So, regarding a hypothetical scenario, if HIPAA would approve it, I will too; if HIPAA wouldn't approve it, I wouldn't either.

I think at this stage that it's a can of worms that can't be unopened. You read about some of those cold cases from 40 years ago and they are able to track down the culprit by comparing dna evidence to dna on the national database, basically tracking them down through known relatives.

I think every child should have a 100% guarantee at birth that the man they think is their father is their father. I say that because I met my half brother and we hadn't a clue.
