In France, the UK, Ireland, Germany and Israel this is illegal. They want to protect the child. Finding out that they do not have the right father traumatises them. I believe women who make a man pay child support to a child that is not his should be jailed for fraud.
676 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I did hear some cases like that in my country- how some husbands ended up taking care of a child for years that weren't theirs... Then the child was taken away from the husband in some cases after his wife said "you're not his/her father!"
I can only imagine how traumatising and heartbreaking it must have been for those men to not only give financially support but also love a child, make so many memories with them only to find out later that it isn't his child. Not to mention the kind of impact it will leave on the child too.
Someone told me last month about this man. The court still asked that man to pay the child support even when it was proved that the child's father was someone else. The poor guy was already dealing with betrayal and heartbreak he was feeling because of a cheating wife and then he has to keep giving support. It was too much for him. He ended up killing himself.
So, I think it's unfair and if fathers wants to have a DNA test, they should. That being said, if my husband say that to me I'd be so angry and hurt because I'd never cheat on him, so the fact that he even thinks I could do such a thing will affect our marriage very badly. I'd give the proof though

It's also illegal where I live but anyways I live in a country where is normal for cousins to marry each other so everyone is pretty much related to each other.

I live in a small country where majority of the population are expats so for locals their way to keep their blood line as pure as possible is to marry someone close to you, often a cousin.

Yes, and for the record, it is illegal for a man to conduct a DNA test on a child without the motherās knowledge and consent in more states than it is legal⦠right here in the United States of America.
Additionally, many states have ādad by defaultā laws. If at any time a woman can suggest that you helped to support her child, she can take you to court for child support even if itās perfectly clear that you are not the biological father.
The laws arenāt designed to protect children. Theyāre designed to protect women. Full stop.23 Reply- 1 mo
I agree. But I think it's designed to protect the system from a burdensome child. Mothers are just the ones who benefit from it.
- 1 mo
Not true. If you examine the statistics regarding the benefits to children comparing single fathers to single mothers, the entire current standard wouldnāt exist. Children who primarily or exclusively live with their fathers instead of their mothers after divorce are better off in every single metric, and itās not even close. That includes their likelihood to require government assistance and their likelihood to have negative interactions with law enforcement. If we really wanted to keep kids from being a burden on the system, fathers would get custody more often than mothers. Especially since the tender years doctrine was debunked decades ago.
Again, the laws are designed to protect mothers, at the expense of men and children. There is no empirical evidence to the contrary. - 1 mo
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Someone has to pay for the mistake. The current system is setup in order to prevent society from having to incur the financial burden of a child that the parent's can't/won't support. Currently, there's a couple schools of thought.
1. Use welfare and socialism to pay for the mistakes of others.
2. Let naive men pay for children that aren't theirs.
3. Quite controversial take, but here goes... let women abort unwanted children.
4. Remove all safety nets in hopes of fostering a sense of personal responsibility.
In reality, these are not laws that protect children, but laws created by feminists to protect promiscuous women and encourage male submission.

The child is most important. A man should not be able to require a paternity test without the courts, or some other authority, involved... to make sure its a legitimate and appropriate request.
Paternity tests are not cheap, and can give false-positive and false-negative results. They are not infallible.
13 Reply- 1 mo
can you source this?
- 28 d
@AviatorTom The article you liked above says "The results of genetic testing are considered to be highly reliable, with an accuracy rate of over 99%. This means that the chances of a false positive or false negative result are extremely low. The test can not only confirm paternity but also exclude individuals who are not biologically related to the child."

I don't see why it would be a problem unless someone cheated. Even then, morally it's the right thing to do. A child is the responsibility of both parents, neither should shirk their duties. However, getting it done doesn't necessarily mean the father will step up to his duty and face the consequences of his share of the actions which is the downside.
Having men bail out of their responsibility after "doing the deed" is more of a risk for women which is probably why it's illegal however you would need a paternity test done in all of those countries proving your fatherhood.31 Reply- 1 mo
Agreed.
593 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. It should be a mandatory test done to assure men they are the rightfully responsible parent OR men should pass ALL responsibility for children to women who can have the choice on whether or not to take the pregnancy to term. Since men don't get access to this they are held accountable for women's decisions. A man can NEVER be allowed to have a child that he helped create but a woman doesn't want so seeks an abortion.
10 Reply1.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. A DNA/Paternity Test should be part of the information on the Birth Certificate, just as it shows the name, birth date, place of birth, and other vital information, and the names, addresses, birth dates, and occupations of both the mother and father are typically listed.
40 Reply- 1 mo
sure. it hurts nobody and the only negative outcome for a woman is that she can no longer betray the "father". i think not only shoult it be allowed. it should just be done as a default procedure so when the child is born that's just told both parents as a matter of fact.
20 Reply 600 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. i think they should. if i was a man i wouldn't want to give $$$ to a kid that isn't mine and stay with a woman who cucked me this badly

Yes women have been playing tricks on men , I knew woman getting pregnant on purpose later making their husband think the kid was his all long.
Men have died thinking the child was his and not once told the truth until that adult children found out on their own when ancestry kits became a popular thing.

if there ever becomes a point in life where you need a paternity test, it means you did something wrong. Only fuck women you are in a committed loving relationship with and you will never have this problem. Men just love fucking around with random women then not want to take responsibility when she gets pregnant.
114 Reply- 1 mo
I think you misunderstand what this is about. If a man feels that a paternity test is warranted, that means that he feels that the mother fucked around which unfortunately is often the case. You keep wanting to make this a problem of men's behavior and it is a problem stemming from the behavior of women.

@msc545
but the issue is... there ARE plenty of men who refuse to take responsibility for their offspring. They impregnate women only to ditch them and there is literally NO SHAME to this at all. They just go on with their lives. - Opinion Owner1 mo
Don't talk about your wife cheating on you having babies with other men
if you willingly sleep around impregnate women then ditch them. - Opinion Owner1 mo
@tzdc21
no it doesn't happen a lot.
its way more likely to happen when men sleep around, insist on not using a condom, then after she gets pregnant, he denies that it is ever his baby. So then now he wants a paternity test
paternity tests are rarely ever used in committed relationships.
paternity tests are largely used when a guy sleeps around without a condom and doesn't want responsibility over his kids - Opinion Owner1 mo

@Opinion Owner One thing does not preclude the other except in your mind, such as it is. Do you know what a "false equivalency" is? Of course, you don't or you would not write such garbage. Here, stupid - educate yourself a bit:
" False equivalence is a logical fallacy where two things are incorrectly presented as being equivalent or equal, despite significant differences between them. This creates a misleading impression of balance or fairness, suggesting both sides of an argument have equal validity when they do not. It's a common tactic in debates and discussions, particularly when trying to equate actions, arguments, or individuals that are not morally or logically comparable." - 1 mo
Uh wrong it happens quite a lot and the numbers are growing by the year. You don't know this because society doesn't give a damn about men's issues. There's many instances where the man is actually being faithful and its the WOMAN that is sleeping around and cheating, not the man, and sometimes, that cheating results in paternity fraud. And the factnthat you're disregarding this as nothing or trying to pin it all on the men is alarming and sad.

what do you mean society does not care about men's issues?
MEN ABANDON THEIR CHILDREN FOR SINGLE MOMS TO RAISE ALL THE TIME!

paternity tests are RARELY ever used.
Usually the only time when paternity tests are used is when the GUYS SLEEPS AROUND WITH A LOT OF RANDOM WOMEN. Then he doesn't want responsibility after she gets pregnant.
Committed married men almost NEVER demand paternity tests
- 28 d
Men do that all the time? Thats funny. Because everyone dad in my family has never done that. So while it happens, it doesn't happen all the time. And no that is not the only time men demand for paternity tests, abd the reason why you think so is because like i said, society doesn't care to explain men's issues or pay attention to them, which is why you're saying this type of stuff because you don't know, like many don't. And unfortunately based on the way you're talking you don't even wanna know. But go ahead and keep demonizing all of us.

If you are with an honest, moral, and honorable woman, you don't need to have a DNA test. It is an insult to women that every father has a DNA test. If you don't know that the woman you are with is a decent woman, then that is your wrong choice.

I have nothing to hide. I am still looking for a man with whom I will experience all my firsts. In this case, isn't it rude for my husband to have a DNA test done on our child? Do you find this disrespect toward me to be normal?
- 1 mo
This has nothing to do with decency - it has to do with honesty, which is generally in very short supply in the US particularly. That said, how would you suggest men assess "honesty and decency and morality" in women? I know of no reliable or valid way of doing this other than guessing, which does not usually work very well.
Keep in mind that in addition to the man, paternity fraud also victimizes the child who may never know who his real father is and may be deprived of critical medical information in later life, and the actual biological father who is deprived of ever knowing his child. That make THREE victims of this crime.
I would suggest to you that the psychological and biological price of paternity fraud is far too high for it to be anything but to a mortal insult to it's victims, and it is a crime that absolutely needs to be identified 100% of the time.
If that offends you - too fucking bad. Your arrogant attitude offends ME.
