That could backfire on a woman too though if she's trying to do dirty and keep a man from seeing or having his kid because she lied and said he's someone else's son.

Think with your head and not with your legs!

Yes. It is insane that in many states a guy can be defrauded, find out too late, and then be on the hook, under threat of prison, till the child is 18. Paternity fraud is an act in which the victim is forced to pay the perpetrator of the fraud.

That begs the question as to why they didn't get a paternity test themselves before signing the birth certificate

You can get a paternity test from Walmart for less than 100 bucks….

If it's mandatory, it better be free. Hospitals already look for every opportunity they can find to add $100 on to a bill for absolutely no reason.

Absolutely, paternity tests should be mandatory before the paternal parents name is put on the birth certificate.

Absolutely they should be. I wish that I didn't have to say that, I really do. But considering the world is now and how many women are committing this despicable act everyday, which happens to be one of the most demoralizing and traumatizing things a woman can EVER do to a man, I think this is the way we have to go to adapt to the situation. A man has every right to know of the child that he is taking care of is his or not. He should not have to be living under a lie that could potentially (and literally) destroy him once it's exposed.

Yes, because women will guilt you for wanting them.

"Don't you trust me? Relationships are built on trust. Why would you want to impregnate me if you don't even trust me?"

Okay, then give me your social security number and banking info. You trust me, right?

    Trust BUT VERIFY!

I don't know, I'm just thinking how father's name is put on birth certificate just by trust/assumption without any actual physical proof. For mother there are many physical proofs like giving birth, carrying a child, etc. etc. but for fathers none. And not to mention parents traps and frauds...

No! If paternity is disputed, the man can s as k for one, but why waste the money, otherwise?

So if a woman gets pregnant and claims it's yours, you will just take it for her word because you trust her? And a raise kid, invest time and money just on her word?
If roles were reversed, I could not accept such a huge thing and responsibility just on trust. It's another human life we're talking about here, and goodbye to my old life. Sorry but if I'm gonna do all that I want a proof.
Paternity test was actually mandatory in some countries but then it stopped because of too many non-paternity results. Isn't that scary?

Of course I’d ask for a paternity test already knowing the results. I might let the woman give me an Academy Award worthy rendition of the “How could you say such a thing?” speech before telling her I had a vasectomy 16 years ago.

You said mandatory. As in every case? A married couple with no suspicions?

Well more as a child's right to know for sure before being put on birth certificate.
