For example, some time ago I was reading a biography on Lucky Luciano, the man who organized crime on a US scale, an extremely intelligent man but who was the worst kind of human. And I wondered why an intelligent man like him didn't use his intelligence for good.
Why do some clever men use their intelligence for evil?
Psychologically. Being a good person implies that someone, something in our development made us develop any sense of empathy. Without a sufficiently developed empathy then it allows all form of violence to be committed since it triggers no guilt, or not enough guilt for the perpetrator.
Sociologically. When a society, such as USA, values this philosophy of the self made man then... Why not creating a crime business, it is on par with a sense of self-accomplishment, plus, Mafia has a sort of magical and protective aura in the eyes of people. Magical enough to make us believe that the Mafia is a respectable institution. To the point of wondering who the ad agencies of Mafia were, to create such admiration in the eyes of the public as well as criminals.
Honestly, I read this man's biography, and I felt no admiration for him, on the contrary I think he was a monster. Even if he had a certain moral code, like not attacking simple civilians etc.
but I recognize that he had an extraordinary intelligence.
Yet his mother and father gave him a good education, they did everything they could to get him to follow the path of legality, but it didn't work.
Well, I see a clear difference between moral code and feelings, I mean you can teach a moral code to kids without loving them, without transmitting affection. By just instructed them to follow guidelines, intellectually only, emotionally detached.
So it would be entirely possible that such teachings fail to impact, because it would be just a speech, a story told to a kid, without feelings, without caring.
Front and center, Barack Obama. Over and over again, the corporate media hailed him as, ‘The smartest guy ever to become president’. But like most, if not all liberals, he hates this country. I don’t avoid friendships with people, just because their views are different from my own, and one of my liberal friends said Obama just wanted to change parts of it. Can you imagine telling your wife or girlfriend that you want to‘fundamentally transform’ it? So that’s one example. Go look up his Berlin speech in 2008; angrily jabbing his finger skyward, saying, First we’re going to change America, and then we’re going to change the world,’. From the outset, his singular goal was to punish the country, and foment racial friction. This was the most racially harmonious nation in the world, until Obama and Biden came along.
Good doesn't pay as well as evil. Then there's the fact no one will remember you, would there be any information on this guy had he led a good life? Walk around any old town and you'll see monuments erected to good men but 99.9% of people passing them have zero knowledge of their deeds. Evil gets results fast and your legacy is long remembered, even admired.
I read he was instrumental in getting the mafia controlled dock workers to get ships built in WWII... and that he cut a deal with the Navy and so got out of jail and lived a nice criminal life in Italy.
Children largely do what they are trained to do, within the realms of right and wrong of their culture/personality. He was trained in the mafia. Look at his face...
So many people in this world become separated from empathy and compassion. Once locked up in fear, pride, shame... they are the devils (adversary) workmanship.
The why is because for whatever reason, their brain simply goes towards more controversial modes of thinking. That opens up more possibilities for it to leave the brain & come to reality. And since their brain prefers those modes of thinking & acting, there's nothing that internally challenges those modes enough for them to not think it or do it.
I don't know, they have underlying psychological issues I guess. Also, some people are socially awkward or have other conditions and simply don't know how to make positive use of their knowledge even though they would want to, so doing bad things is their only option, I guess
Simple. Some people aren't good. Evil exists. Why? You can go down the rabbit hole here in a biblical sense or just understand sometimes it doesn't make sense for egg people so bad other than that evil people get rewarded for doing bad things more so than playing by the rules. That is until they get caught.
@KostasKouvalis yes its crazy and so many Nice people are actually dumb like some Time it’s crazy how dumb and caring a person can be , I saw it in real life and they make me think of golden retriever
I know, trust me, I know. But there is book smart and street smart. A lot of nice people don't have street smarts.

I have no patience for dumb people though, even if they are nice. Well, when I was a teenager, I did, but not anymore. Sometimes I am shocked how some people aren't bothered by dumbness.
Thats a popular saying in France it does not exist in America? Here golden retriever are seen as extremely dumb 😅
I don’t either I mean sometime I don’t mind but other Time I m shocked by their dumbness like I think there's a level I can support and a other where it’s just like not possible to be so dumb and I get annoyed 😹
