Here’s the thing. I found the official bill from an official government site for Mississippi.

If you look at it you’ll notice disposition is dead it means:

This indicates that the bill is no longer active in the legislative process. In other words, it did not pass or advance further during the session and is considered terminated or dead for that legislative cycle. If sponsors want to try again, they would need to reintroduce a new version in a future session.

This status is a formal way to signal that the bill will not become law as it stands. It does reference July 2025 but I can’t say if that means that was the original date they were going to discuss this or if that date no longer matters.
