By definition mild conservatives are happy with the status quo. So of course they are happier. Generally though asside from the gender differences


Conservatives often don't see inequalities or unfair treatment of others as much and therefore have much less to worry about. Conservatives express a greater sense of personal agency in life. Liberal morals are often relativistic while conservative morals are often easier satisfied as they are often rooted in religion. Also what helps others and "doing good" is often seen different. Liberals see the goal more in equality while conservatives see fairness more in equity.

It's wrong to assume that living conservative makes you happier. Quite the opposite probably. If you would force liberals to live a conservative life, they would probably be even unhappier. It's their general perspective to live that makes you happier.
When it comes to loneliness I think liberal women have higher and healthier standards, that are not as easily satisfied.

It's the conservatives lack of human empathy and compassion that makes them say they're happier. Like a rat in a box will be happy if they are given their basic needs to survive but the rat in the sewer has the wider knowledge of the world and has to deal with the consequences of living a real life instead of in a cage of ignorance.

Well they certainly seem angry most of the time. Whether unhappiness is the horse or the cart. another fact is that since survey on happiness have begun, women have reported greater happiness than men... till recently.

Depression has a higher incident amongst women than men. So maybe depressed women become Liberals and then become angry. Seems plausible.

It has also been established that conservative women are better looking - so that probably doesn't help.

I suspect a lot of liberal men only take on those values in order to get laid - that also probably doesn't help.

ROFLMAO conservative women put in more work to LOOK better because they seek validation from the vapid notion that image is more important than substance.
Women in general do suffer more easily from depression, stress and anxiety. They are also more deeply affected by it and for longer and you can guess which industry is keen for people to "get therapy". Yes the one that is 90% dominated by women and that the same notion of mental health is that we should all learn to deal with the pressures of life as... women. Men should become more like male girlfriends and learn to express and emote rather than teach women how men handle emotional turmoil (not trauma that's a buzz word for becoming a victim).

@Shiprex :). It is fun being snidely tongue in cheek but reluctantly forced to admit to some aspects.

Talk therapy does not work for men. It maybe does work women in that they eventually get bored talking about X repetitively and stop talking about it or even thinking about it.

Which is what my first go to is. I have some amateur pysch success with telling a female friend "We are not thinking or talking about this today". She acknowledges it helps.

It must be hard to be a liberal and have so much more to worry about and to be depressed by.

by the way Is emotional trauma the same as emotional damage or is that emotional turmoil? Or is emotional damage something else again?

Turmoil is experiential that has been overcome and processed. Damage is more extensive and may require repair over time and could alter future behaviours and character.

That some choose to bury heads and ears in the sand and instead seek to sustain the status quo because they are benefitting from it and fear it, makes them weak and cowardly. That they choose to continue to exploit others because they are usually born into privilege and don't want others to have the same because they again fear others not like them having access to things they believe they are more entitled to because of their selfish and immature characters is why they remain unable to apply compassion in their lives and are fearful of recognition of their own humanity because in their groups they still like the think they are better.
