Trump wants to end daylight savings time and keep it on standard time?

Isn't that the opposite of what everyone wants? We're on standard time right now. You could drive home with the sign still out if they keep it on daylight savings time, not standard time right now like where we drive home in the dark and get the day started an hour early. Daylight savings time, allows you to have nice long summer days too.

It's not the opposite of what everybody wants. Daylight Savings Time has had a lot of opposition right from the start. I remember when it started. I thought it was stupid then and still think it's stupid.

There was serious discussion about getting rid of it for a long long time.

Well, it partly depends on the state. A state in the far east and far west of a time zone are completely different.

Anyway, I think they should leave it the same all year. I lean toward leaving it on standard time all year. In the summer, the days are long enough that it doesn't really matter. There is plenty of daylight both morning and evening. In the winter is when it matters because the days are so short.

In the winter is when the time zones matter most. In the western end of a time zone, it is still dark when many people go to work in the morning. I hate going to work when it's still dark. Shifting to summer time would make it even darker. This is a huge problem for people who work outdoors like I used to.

Arizona does not do DST. I think Indiana also. There may be others.

Yes, it gets bumped forward an hour in summer. So 6:00AM becomes 7:00AM. Where I live, the sun rises at almost 8:00AM on the shortest day of the year. Switching to DST in the winter would mean the sun didn't rise until 9:00AM. In the far east of a time zone, that would be 7:00AM and 8:00AM.

No one is going to be happy with one hour or the othere because the main contributing factor is how north or south you are.

So today maine sunsets at 5:20 and Florida is 6:20. So we should just flip a coin and stick to it.

I hate the time changes but prefer standard time. I don't like it when it doesn't get dark until 9:00pm.
Either way, though, just pick a time and stick to it. Stop fucking with us twice a year.

I mean it doesn't change the amount of time the sun is in the air, so would just have to adjust to it myself I guess. I had a heck of a time this last time when it switched over to standard time. I was out of whack for like 2 months.
