Would the world be much better off without the United States of America?

Question

Ever since its founding, it has spread devastation and death, and the reasons for its establishment aren't exactly noble (i. e. a small group of extremely rich slave-owners didn't want to pay any tax), and at this time they're unconditionally supporting a genocidal apartheid regime intent on committing ethnic cleansing (Israel). Anyway, the good news is that the current President is intent on destroying what's left of it, and alienating everyone else on Earth in the process. The evil empire is clearly crumbling. Let's just hope it doesn't take too many other nations down with it. And, oh yes, accusations of "working for Russia", being a "Russian agent" or "loving Putin" will, of course, be laughed at and treated with the derision it deserves. Not liking a particular nation cannot, of course, be seen as constituting evidence for working for that nation's rivals, a mistake in (very basic) logic that all too many adults tend to make, especially in this paranoid age in which we live.

America has been a bastion for development and provider of a lot of international improvements and disappointments. It is and has been a cauldron of extremes with a flare for over the top exuberance and idiocy.

But on the whole it's done more good than bad. It promotes selfishness, greed and looks down on humanity as just about resources to exploit. It does provide at least up till the last few weeks a lot of support for those less well off and under threat of tyranny around the world. It has also been responsible for fomenting a lot of discord and violence in places that have resources that are of value to the powers that run the US nation. However that same nation is way too intertwined with commercial and special interests groups that basically pay for the "democratic" representatives. It's less of a representative democracy than a commercial enterprise market that runs the systems.

Stay tuned. We are about to find out. The US comes out of this with a nuclear arsenal but a severely damaged economy and no international allies it can depend on because they can no longer depend on the US. We basically become another Soviet Union. And as things degrade, the 50 states go at each other to dissolve into weaker individual entities that mirror the fall of the Soviet Union.

who knows, without America the British Empire would likely remain the most Powerful country in the west, the war of 1812 wouldn't have happened, they would have torn through Napoleon with ease, the Holy Roman Empire likely wouldn't have collapsed and due to the relationship between Great Britain and Germany, if ww1 did happen, Britain would probably be on the side of the Central Powers, I would say if America didn't break free of British rule, the world would be a much different place now, whether for better or for worse we would never know

While I acknowledge that we have done a lot of harm, I think we've provided more help. Most countries wouldn't survive without our AID money.

Your comments are really extreme though. There are countries that have done far worse things and almost every society had slaves at some point. The U. S. actually had the LEAST slaves. We only recieved 10%. The rest went to Latin America and the Caribbean.

USA is extremely flawed. Up until recently it has been a predominantly stabilizing force in the world. Not always good but usually a buffer to change both good and bad. Too much to cover here on a web page blurb. Right now things are changing and anger and hatred seems to be taking over here. Still may be good for other western democracies to rise.
