So now you'll most likely have to pay 20% more for imported goods.
And those who export to China, Canada will have fewer exports.
Can someone tell me how that will benefit everyone?

If you believe what Trump claims it will help America by bringing jobs back to the USA... but this will take years. You cannot move a factory in months. Also after the factory is built where will you sell your products when the rest of the world have turned away from the USA? Remember American prosperity is dependent on exports.
Yes that's what I was thinking, and even if the jobs do come back, the prices for everything willl go up.
And the unemployment figures at the moment aren't too bad anyway.
come on. Go ahead, and be the first Trump-hater to explain to us why it's a good thing that Canada, Mexico, AND China have imposed tariffs or even bans on American products for years, and only "Trump tariffs" are bad? If they can tariff us, then why can't we do it to them? Asking for a friend.
All Trump is doing is fighting for actual fair trade with countries who have been taking advantage of us for a long time. It's that simple.
You're brainwashed

We will see more companies like Honda relocate to the US to avoid tariffs and we will see countries that currently impose steep tariffs on American made goods want to renegotiate their trade deals with the US.
@exitseven,
Remember that sweet Foxxcon deal that tRump said was gonna bring 13,000 jobs to Wisconsin in his 1st term? Well it was never completed and less than 1,000 jobs were created. That is exactly what's gonna happen this time too. But you still fucking believe. Despite knowing all the lies. What is wrong with you?
@OneViewpoint The deal fell apart in 2021, It did not say why but it may have had something to do with the current business climate at the time.
Keep apologizing for tRump's lies. It's gonna work for you.
@OneViewpoint Exit, you cannot explain or rationalize your way out of this one. Stop trying.
It encourages people to buy American. That helps companies in America, who provide jobs for Americans. It also lets other countries know that we're not going to let them charge one-sided tariffs on US goods.
Apple has figured it out and so has taiwan. Between the two of them they've pledged to invest $600 billion dollars in American manufacturing. Do you have any idea how many jobs that's going to create for americans?
Tariffs, like war, will help nobody. Trump fails to understand this, and as a result, we will all pay the price (literally) for his ignorance, stubbornness, and stupidity.
It won't. POTUS Elon said prepare for hardship
Trump is a genius lol
