When economic prosperity was promised on day one, it's supposed to be enacted. All he did was make pardons on day one. Almost 2 months in he hadn't done anything positive for the economy and is making things actively more expensive.

Also chickens aren't cheap to humanely care for them. The supply store sells 40lbs of chicken feed for $35. That can last a flock of around 10 chickens about a week or two. Then you gotta buy or make food and water containers and keep them filled. Then a coop to keep them warm or cool and safe at night. Then nesting boxes for them to lay eggs. Then you need medication to prevent or treat infections. Then you need to a few times a week, clean the coop of all the shit and bedding, then refill it and add in diatomaceous earth to prevent parasites from living in there. Then you also need to enclose them during the day so coyotes, bears, dogs and birds can't kill or take them easily.

It isn't cheap and isn't doable for a large swath of the country. A large economic and time dump just for some eggs which is only part of the issue.

First of all a P. S. A. During a bird flu epidemic it is a TERRIBLE IDEA to raise your own chickens as they become a vector for transmission for you.

As for why everyone is impatient? Trump set unrealistic expectations by claiming he would provide economic miracles on day 1. Also, since Trump has not moved a finger to actually resolve Americas economic problems I do not foresee him providing good results anytime soon.

Economics has gone from believing USA was going to experience a strong economic growth back during Biden to believing we are quickly entering a recession now during Trump. This is just the facts. If Trump does not change his course completely then USA will enter a deep recession within a year.

Trump has already submitted a tax proposal which has passed the house already. He is trying to get reciprocal tariffs from foreign countries. The price per barrel of oil has dropped to $66 jus in anticipation of the energy production that will happen in the future due to President Trump's policies. His Dept of Government Efficiency has already uncovered over 100 billion dollars of waste and corruption. I would say he has moved more than a finger to fix the economy.

@exitseven "Already". It has been over 43 days and the Republicans owns both the house, senate and presidency but they have yet to pass a budget. It is going so poorly that they have openly admitted to planning a "clean resolution" rather than an actual budget like any sane and functional government would.

As for that speculations on the future of energy in USA as well as the claims of DOGE? Yeah I am going to very much doubt that.

@Syntosi It takes a long time to pass a budget. Usually it is broken up into pieces but Trump wants a "Big Beautiful Bill" and that will take time. It will take less time that two or 3 separate bills. Energy companies are ramping up and DOGE is finding more waste every day and the democrats are losing the lawsuits against the money saving efforts.

@exitseven No it does not take a long time to pass a budget. It takes a long time to PLAN a budget which is why presidents should have theirs ready before they win an election. Trump did not and Trump is terrible at management and planning so here we are.

And no, dont delude yourself. The fastest growing energy industry was the green energy one AKA the one that Trump wants to fucking murder. USA is going to fall further and further behind in the energy industry thanks to this.

And no, DOGE has not found any corruption and the waste they have found has only been by their subjective judgement. That is not to mention that DOGE is losing court battles which reverses a lot of the stupid shit that they have done because of course it would if you went in like that without a plan.

This has been a pathetic display of someone without a plan and yet somehow performed it badly through overwhelming incompetence. I am honestly getting secondhand embarrassment just watching it.

Yes, the fastest growing energy sector was the green energy sector. But it was because the government poured billion of dollars to subsidize it. There is no way it could compete in a free market economy.

@exitseven From what I can remember off the top of my hand, USA spends around 5 billion dollars each year subsidizing its oil industry. There is also a funny deal with Saudi Arabia where USA provides free security for their oil extraction. I say its funny because Saudi Arabia is part of OPEC which regularly screws USA over with oil price manipulation.

That said, I am going to make the argument that if something is profitable then the government SHOULD subsidize it.

Lets say for the sake of argument that a private industry sees growth and invests to increase their production by 100 billion in the next 10 years to answer growing demands and improving technology. That is all fine and dandy but if the government can see even more potential or that the private sector is moving too slowly then it could subsidize and invest into speeding it up. What used to be 100 billion in 10 years might be 100 billion in 5 years and 500 billion in 10 years.

Having the government sit on its hands and wait for someone else to do its work is quite frankly pathetic.

@exitseven America is already energy independent. USA has been an energy exporter for a long time now. You really sound like you have not looked into any of this before.

@exitseven Why? To make money of course. USA has one of the best refinery industries in the world. Turning crude oil into refined products is very profitable and a very good product to export to other countries. Did you think that the oil industry in USA would just stop and be satisfied once they provided all the oil and oil products that USA needed? Do you know literally anything about capitalism?

The last refinery was built in 1976 and Biden actually closed down a couple. This is something that needs to be fixed if the US does not want to rely on foreign countries to do this.

@exitseven... Have you been listening at all? USA is the one refining it. Countries like Canada sends THEIR oil to USA to refine it. USA is also energy independent already. Who are you expanding the energy sector for exactly? The demand for oil is soon about to crash. All the investments into the oil industry is about to turn completely worthless.
