Trump doesn’t ‘have’ to rehire anyone—this question is based on a false premise. As President, he has the authority to fire federal employees who serve at his discretion, but career civil servants have protections under the law.

If you’re referring to Schedule F, which he attempted to implement in his first term and is trying again now, it’s designed to strip certain federal employees of job protections to make it easier to fire them for political reasons. The idea that he would fire and then ‘have’ to rehire them contradicts his own goals.

As for the DEI and veterans comment—veterans earn their roles through qualifications and service, and DEI policies exist to ensure fairness in hiring, not to undermine merit. If anything, the real issue is whether people are qualified, not whether they fit into a political narrative.
