I understand your logic but that is also saying you trust billionaires to do what's right for you and me out of the goodness of his heart. I don't believe it because I don't have evidence of the waste fraud and abuse they've found. They just say they're doing this and people believe it.

Also, his position within Doge presents many potential conflicts of interests that allow him to have access to things that could benefit him and his companies by finding "waste", yes quotations in waste, so they can find savings to fund furthering more tax cuts for the extremely rich.

Tell me what exactly has he done specifically since heading Doge that makes you feel he's doing good?

He gave 288 million to Trump's campaign. Why would he just do give away that much money if he didn't expect a return on his investment?

So far this year alone Elon Musk has been given 21 billion of American taxpayer money. He gets these welfare benefits often and without them his businesses generally would not work.

If he did not, arguably, he'd have no money at all.

So I think it is a pretty fair statement. He has promised a lot, delivered very little and been highly compensated for it. Not sure what your criteria for theft is, but in my book that counts.

This year I imagine Tesla founders are grinding their teeth at the decision to allow Musk to be their media figure. But it is what he likes to do and although he does it by loaning money to Trump which Trump then repays with tax money, he is sort of succeeding. Although rip to anyone with Tesla stock in 2025.
