When the zombie/pandemic/alien/asteroid/nuke apocalypse happens, what mores, fashions, etiquette, traditions, etc won't survive in the future?

Like would thongs ever be a thing? Saying "Bless you" for a sneeze? What colloquialisms won't make the cut? Spanking kids?

Do you think any severe population reset would make preservation of the above non essential cultural flotsam and jetsum more urgent or would they see it as an opportunity to cull non-useful social stuff?

It really depends, each scenario has its down.

I’m sure a lot of people would try to make do with the situation they got. Maybe try a bit of normalcy like wearing the clothes they used to before the terrible incidents took place.

With morals, there would be trade posts and they wouldn’t ask you where you got the items to trade & neither would you ask the ethics of how the trader got their items to trade. ‘Survival of the fittest’ out there…. A true struggle and some people gotta get killed.

I’m sure manners might come in handy into persuading a camp to allow you into their ranks, being very charismatic & resourceful to your valuable assets would prove quite useful so manners wouldn’t be killed off completely.

This is just food for thought, Hell do I know if an apocalypse runs rampant…. Jesus.

Education upwards until your 24. It would maybe be like the menonites or amiss where you finish at 14 and kids help out on the farm. Historically that's why parents had kids, they helped the family prosper.

Thongs are 75,000 years old I believe.

If soceity did collapse a lot of old traditions would maybe comeback because though we think of them as adequate or barbaric they were necessary and done for a reason. Slavery may also come back.
