We used to be able to call you guys hypothetical because law and order and the process of lethal injection was more expensive then a life sentence. With recent black bag kidnapping from federal government agents and even a recent execution from firing range we are in some spooky times.

We do have a national death penalty already. The federal government can impose the death penalty for certain federal crimes, such as murder of a government official, kidnapping resulting in death, and treason.
We may be seeing people executed for treason.
