It's more the institution of the church then the religion in of itself.

The power of the church and it's clergy are abusing the words of any religion as false prophet to fulfill a personal desire at the expense of masses.

In the days before reading was common the Christian church took Tithe or a religious tax for the preacher to read the religious text. Then when the printing press was mass producing the Bible the average person learn to read and was actively reading the Bible with no passages about the part of going to heaven paying the tithe. The church was actively abusing the common folk because they couldn't read until the common folk learn to read.

In every way Jesus way of life and teachings was extremely progressive even woke even by today's standards. It's just the larger church was extremely militant and basically bastardized all of gods teachings.

I personally like the saying "there is only one true Christian and he died on the cross." With that in mind we can only emulat the best we can.

Even an atheist would take the complement of be christ like as they walk the path of life.

Are you sure that statement to be true?

Not being sure about what the word "democrat" in the US means and involves, I can still tell you that a real sincere democrat will in all logic display respect for other opinions, philosophical points of view, and sincere religious convictions.

The main goal of religions in general is helping people to live together in peace. The same can be stated about real democracy. Shame upon those using religion or whatever political system to manipulate citizens.
