The people crossing the border illegally either have no legal status, or they have (in nearly all cases) made false asylum claims, knowing that they will then be released into the US to await their asylum hearing, which in nearly every case is rejected (and most never bother to show up for their hearing), so anyone who has not claimed asylum or has claimed asylum but was not granted asylum is subject to immediate deportation as soon as they are located. That is the law.

Those still awaiting their asylum hearing are released conditionally, and one of those conditions is that they do not commit any crimes while waiting for their hearing. Failure to comply results in a loss of asylum and makes that person subject to immediate deportation.

I have no idea what FantasyLand you think we live in, but there are laws here. Just because other administrations failed to enforce them (and often actively worked against them), they are still the law. And these aren't new laws - they've been on the books for decades.

Feel free to read the laws regarding asylum claims in the US. They aren't hard to find. You clearly aren't familiar with them, so go learn something.
