If being trans is so oppressive or difficult, then why do the majority of trans people openly share that they are trans?

Did you know that, at one point in time, being Christian was a death sentence? Not because it was illegal (which it was) and the sentence was death, but because any religion outside of the Roman pantheon of Jupiter, Venus, and Pluto and so on was so viscerally hated that anyone who was openly Christian was often lynched, which usually resulted in death. This wasn’t an official act taken by the roman empire but the citizens of Rome. It would be much safer for Christians to hide out, live in secret rather than face such oppression, but they would still have signs of their religion on their bodies, white shells to identify themselves to others like them and Roman citizens who knew would lead a charge to go after these heathens that would dare commit such treason against the gods. They didn’t hide it because they sought community, they sought to live their life the way they wanted to, worshipping their God that had no place in their nation’s official religion. It was important to them to live as the identity they saw themselves to be. I think you can figure out what I’m trying to say, at this point.

Because if they don't , then they get attacked or killed for "tricking" people. If they do, they get attacked or killed for being trans. They lose either way.

The bigger question is why others feel like it's any of their damn business whether they come out or not to them.

In 2021 57 trans people were killed. 22933 people who weren’t trans were killed. I think trans people will be fine 🙄

Hella source needed there AND trans members make up a smaller percentage of the population so the percentage killed is much higher per trans person killed in that case.

Also, 22933 weren't killed just because of their gender identity.

So I found your source: HRT reports, a few additional infos: These were numbers from 2021 in the U. S. alone. Also this only includes numbers from the FBI statistics which was found to be lower than an aggregation of local police force data would have been, which wasn't possible to do. Then some local police forces don't even have that category so it will never be counted. Thirdly these are only the numbers from people who were killed because of transphobia, not killed trans people. Lastly this does only include people "whose gender identities, expressions and/or lived experiences differ from — and may in fact transcend — what is typically associated with the sex they were assigned at birth".

Just goes to show that when it comes to various minority groups, the numbers are far often unreported or recategorized to make it seem like it isn't a problem.

Because it is important to them and because that is how you enact change. It is also not easy for them to live what is essentially a fake life just because they want to avoid persecution.

Imagine how tiresome and horrible it would be if you had to wake up every day and hide the fact that you are a woman.

Being trans is easy if you don’t look desperate and begging to called you aren’t supposed to.
Just like most ladyboy in SEA they look perfect just like women but they never claim themselves as woman, and they live peacefully in society without pressure and insults.
