If you just described Democratic Socialism (or at least the Nordic Model), without actually using the word "socialism", the numbers would be much, much higher - probably an overwhelming majority.

The reality is that there's a very strong prejudice against socialism (the US did a really good job of brain-washing everybody during the Cold War, and a lot of people have had a vested interest in keeping it that way ever since), but very few people could accurately define what it even is, or how it differs from communism, or how democratic socialism is different from social democracy.
That's partly because it's not a well defined term to begin with, but there are also a lot of people intentionally conflating these various terms in order to mislead others.

If you believe that shit you're retarded. First it was an online poll according to the methodology. This means the outcome can be manipulated by Chinese bot farms in socialist nations for example to skew the results. Second, HBO only reaches 3.68% of women in America according to their viewership demographics, so even if they could control who was voting online (which they can't) and confirm the votes were actually registered by humans (which they can't) and that only one vote was registered per human (which they can't), then they would still be targeting an extremely bias sample set.

If ''America'' wants to ''step'' somewhere (or the world in general) - then it's worth spending a thought on stepping UP - instead of mindless repetition of stuff that already has failed or is failing.
