Adults telling kids not to do something just makes it cool for them to do it. It also makes ir awkward for them to refuse drugs because they don't want the stigma of showing they're obeying these groups.

Much better not to openly promote the anti drug message but take kids on a field trip to see smackheads lying in the gutter.

For real. I think the only reason DARE worked on me was because I spent my childhood surrounded by a bunch of obnoxious alcoholics and druggies that my father brought around.

I saw what abuse of drugs and alcohol led to later in life, so I was determined not to have that happen to me.

Teacher here. It's a decades long failing stunt for the cops to put a semi human face on their psycho drama violent sociopathic narcissist behavior. That was on drugs was one hell of a high!

None of those drug programs are really that effective. I would see kids smoking right after an assembly when I was still in school.
