This week's House Republican priorities:

All this seems to be targeting individual state’s rights to govern for themselves and set boundaries that are mandates the people elected their officials to do.
The thing is, California is Liberal. If the state is 90% Liberal and they support removing gas guzzlers then by all means let them. Texas is Conservative. The state and their people want to allow Measles to run rampant in Kindergartens, Preschools, Elementary Schools, etc. and by all means they’re doing it. I don’t see a difference.
Well add that to the FIVE bills that have become law under unified MAGA control. 2 of them are resolutions, 1 for keeping govt open & 2 voting disapproval of shit.
They DGAF, can't govern & would be mass murderers if hypocrisy was a weapon instead of if an article of faith.

Republicans are saving California despite of themselves becaus eif the state burns down again the federal government will have to bail them out again.
The adults are back in charge.
@goaded Yes all the states that were victims of Hjurricane Helene in Sept 2024. FEMA had run out of money because Biden used it to shuttle illegal aliens around the country. Thankfully President Trump was re elected. He went to all those states to investigate and found that most of the hurrican victim's attempts to rebuild were derailed by building regulations and permits. This problem was promptly solved by our newly minted President that gives priority to American citizens. Those homes are now in the process of being rebuilt.
Back in the real world...
"* FEMA said the canceled program was part of an order by the Trump administration to leave disaster planning and response to states, with a goal of eliminating FEMA.

In 2024, the county applied for a federal grant to install a storm drainage system that would protect Yarnell’s water system. But that application is now in limbo after the Federal Emergency Management Agency canceled the relevant grant program on April 4, calling it “wasteful” and “politicized.”"

LMAO! Like the renamed NAFTA, the cancelled “wasteful” and “politicized” program was "created by the first Trump administration in 2020".
Governor Sanders:
"Arkansas communities are still recovering from this spring's tornadoes, as the sheer magnitude of this event resulted in overwhelming amounts of debris, widespread destruction to homes and businesses, the tragic loss of three lives, and injuries to many others. To relieve the burden on these counties, cities, and towns, I am appealing FEMA's decision to deny Arkansas' Major Disaster Declaration request."
FEMA immediately provided aid to Arkansas on April 5, 2025. Later they applied for more aid. It was denied because most eple were insured. After it was reviewed aid for uninsured losses were approved. The people of Arkansas were helped and taxpayers were saved some money. It was good that FEMA is actually watching out for taxpayers.
The storms and tornadoes were mid-March. "Governor Sanders requested the Major Disaster Declaration relief on April 2, 2025. On April 18, 2025, Governor Sanders requested a 30-day extension of time."
