Trump has told Israel if they feel like attacking Iran then that's fine with him.

What would be the justification for that?
Iran clearly doesn't have nukes, so that's not going to work as an excuse.
They don't have a great record on human rights, so maybe the excuse would be to protect Iranian civilians from a tyrannical leader (the same excuse that was used when the US wished to remove Gaddafi in Libya). That's not very convincing though, as the same could be said for many, many other countries that the US has no interest in.

The only reason Iran is different, is because Israel sees them as a threat - or rather, Israel sees them as the only thing that stands between them and their goal of creating a "Greater Israel", which requires the invasion of several other Arab countries, who Iran would defend. If anything, Israel is the country that needs to be stopped, not Iran (is it any wonder Iran wants nukes, when they have such an openly aggressive neighbour as Israel, supported by the US?).

If they really want to do it they'll find a way. There was no justification to invade Iraq so they just made some shit up. And that's not the only case it's just the most obvious one where their lies were exposed but every war involves some kind of narrative that is often not the truth. I feel like it will be harder today to push it through because people are maybe a bit more wary of these tactics but they can still try. Most wars were not popular but they still did it.

He's similar to Putin. He lies a lot and tries to mislead and confuse people, negotiate but not in good faith and then in the end take what he wants with force, which he planned to do all along anyway. They're using the same playbook.

The only difference is Russia is using violence against civilians but in the end they want Ukraine to be part of Russia and they'll accept Ukrainians as citizens if they submit to the government. But Israel sees themselves as superior and the palestinians as inferior and they'd gladly kill every single person, they're more like Nazis really which is not a great testament to the state of humanity that the Israelis are doing this.

I think any nation or group of people is capable of genocide if things align for the worst. But how easily they ignore history, lie to themselves and buy into this collective delusion is disturbing and grotesque.

Iran is an extremist Islamic regime. They don't want war but because the leadership in Iran is based on death to America and death to Israel its very easy for them to be pushed into war because the one thing worse than a war against America or Israel is being ousted out of power and replaced by a new Islamic extremist regime. So you you saw that with the recent Gaza conflict, they had to respond against Israel and it was also the case with Hezbollah.

Would I support a war against Iran?

Well the principle of Trump’s campaign in 2024 was to champion not being a wartime President / not starting new wars. It should uphold that promise, I say as a former Trump supporter.

Trump should also keep campaign promises of: Promoting good healthcare, decreasing consumer prices, and raising consumer confidence also finding peace to Ukraine/Russia & Israel/Palestine as promised which I don’t believe people genuinely care about the promises and only said that just to get other suckers like them to vote for the idiot.
