I had people online say it's okay for a much older person to have sex with a 21 year old but not a 20 year old because 21 year old is legal for alcohol therefore fully adult or stuff like that and the 20 year old is a kid.

Is it just me who think these people are ridiculous and crazy?

I mean they are right, as if the system says you can't drink until 21 then that system does not see you as an adult.

Don't mean the system is right, but if you go into what's wrong or right on this you'll get those who say 14 is legal and those who say anything above 18 and answers in between or above.

As the system is purley a democratic arbitrary number made up. It's not as if it is an objective fact that 18 means adult.

But it is an age restriction that applies because the system does see you as an adult yet. As nobody would agree that adults should't be allowed to drink, so if adults are allowed to this implies they aren't.

Maybe one day they will move it, whether down or up. Same for sex laws. And is US it's different by state anyway, would you say a 17 year old in an adult in one state because they can have sex there?
If no, and you think the person has to be 18 why do you think that? Because again it's not an object fact that 18 means adult nor 21 or 17. 16 is legal over here in UK so is that an adult? Or do they only become an Adult when they can buy alcohol at 18? by the way they can still drink at 16 just not buy.

This also only goes for USA. Anywhere else you can drink at 18.

Personally I find it dumb that you need to be 21 before you can consume alcohol. 18 is the age most country's consider old enough to do adult things like driving cars, drinking alcohol, legal age to have sex. The 21 rule is dumb but debatable. That's the same for the minimum age for adults to legally have sex with
