It makes a big difference. Paying taxes is inevitable and overall tax dollars go to various things that some people want and others don’t but at the end of the day you’re not paying for anything outright.

Of course we're not paying for it outright, the government is playing middle man and taking their cut off the top. It still doesn't change the fact that money that I work for is taken from my paycheck and the entity that is receiving it is funding stuff I disagree with, I'm going to complain about it. That's not the same logic, people don't want to be forced into taking part and paying for things they don't want or have a morale objection with.

It would be no different then if Trump started a program that gave AR-15s to any citizen who is legally allowed to have a gun.
Liberals for the most part are pretty anti-gun and very anti assault rifle, so I'm pretty sure they would be outraged if they had to help pay for people to get assault weapons.

If that happened, paying for it would be the least of liberals worries. Also this idea that you pay for everything is just a fear mongering tactic that has worked very well. Just like conservatives were talking about how they had to pay for drag shows in other countries only to find out that a dollar of “your” tax dollars went to a performing arts program that chose to fund different things and one of them happened to be a drag show. So by that logic every tax payer paid basically a cent towards a drag show even though that’s not how it works.
