So I know a lot of people complain about the degenerate society especially with OF but what could actually be done about it?
- 903 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
m 1 yBut OF is a consequence, not a cause. So even if something was done against OF, it wouldn't stop the prime cause here: People want to buy sex, people want to sell sex.

Women who start a OF choose to have their nudes out on the internet forever to be seen by anyone and men who are stupid enough to pay for OF when pornhub is a thing deserve to be separated from their money.
Everyone else can just mind their own business.

1 yConsenting adults should do what they wish. I don't use OF, but it seemsfrom the outside to be fairly harmless.

I'm not completely agnostic. There are some pretty disgusting porn sites out there, but I don't think OF is one of them.
Asker1 yMaybe OF is more regulated which is good. But in general is it really harmless though? Have you ever looked into what it does to your brain? What about children who get access to those types of sites?
- 1 y
95% of OF is women masturbating. If my 17 and 15 year old children saw that... and to be very clear I wouldn't encourage them to... I wouldn't really care.
- 1 y
I was 13 when I first saw a video of a woman penetrating herself with a cob of corn... I like to think I turned out okay.
Asker1 yI was unfortunately 6 when I accidentally got exposed to it on the internet. Watching it in the past definitely messed me up for a while. I’m so glad I was able to stop my addiction when I was a teenager.
- 1 y
Yes 6 is too young to process that. I congratulate you on stopping. That seems like a healthy choice.
I'm not pro-porn, but I am pro-choice among consenting adults to a large (but not entirely unrestricted) degree. There are sites whose business model is to hurt women. To me, at least, that should be outside the protections of freedom of speech. No woman deserves to be abused for entertainment. But women choosing to masturbate on OF doesn't concern me one jittery jot.
I respect your right to hold a different opinion.
- 1 y
I don't even know how it is legal. You can't contract out of criminal responsibility. At least in Australia you can't.

1 yWhy? Sex work IS WORK!! What's the problem?
Explain it to me the same way you would explain it to me that getting naked or having sex for free is perfectly fine but selling naked images or sex acts isn't? WTAF?
Asker1 ySex is private and intimate and perfectly fine in a committed relationship. Look at my other comments, especially under Mr. Anonymous.
Asker1 yAlso people sell drugs for work. We don’t allow that do we? Porn is addictive like a drug and has a lot of serious consequences.
- 1 y
Pretty sure pharmacist is a legit occupation...
So? Adults can choose to "harm" themselves can't they?
Who TF are YOU to say when sex is "fine" or not? Hubris off the charts!! - 1 y
Maybe legalize, regulate, tax & monitor it so it's not criminal? JFC
1 yI've used OnlyFans on and off from 2021 to 2025 😁👀 I enjoyed it often for what I had subscribed to and paid for with my hard earned 💳

Asker1 ySo you like to watch content that destroys your brain and how you view people just for personal pleasure? Instead of using that money to support something good, it’s going to adults who have nothing to contribute to society except their bodies. Would you want your mother, sister, girlfriend, wife to have an OF? Why would you treat any other woman differently. What a waste of money.
- 1 y
Men like naked women. T'was always so. A least on OF women choose what they do or don't do. That's better than 90% of the porn industry.
Asker1 y@bddddd so earn the right to look at one by getting into a committed relationship with one and respecting her for more than just her body.
- 1 y
@bddddd I subscribed to a mixture of British and Australian women - good times. It was the 2021 to 2025 period lol 😆😆 the women were usually 19 to 29 or so. Anyways 😈😈😈 praise the devil that OnlyFans exists or at least if ever it ceases I enjoyed my mid to late 20s the same as PornHub for free though pornhub for free

Asker1 yJust because people have consent to do something doesn’t make it right or beneficial for society. The internet is a public place. If a child isn’t allowed to see it, why should it be in a public space?
Asker1 yAlso, you don’t know that those adults are giving their consent.
- 1 y
First the Internet is not a public place... Whatever gave you that idea I don't know lmao.
Second things don't have to be right or benefit society... Again what gave you that idea?
And children are specifically aren't allowed to be onlyfans...
And yes I do, because those adults choose to create accounts themselves.
Well done for astounding points that made no sense. Applause.
Asker1 yIt’s public because anyone has access to that content. Yes even minors if they lie about their age.
We should promote things that are right and beneficial to society and discourage things that aren’t. To not think so is just a passive irresponsible way to look at life.
You have no idea who made those accounts or who is getting the money and if it’s to the person the content is about. It could be a 50+ year old man. Which AI these days, anything could be possible 😂- 1 y
That's not what public place means... And no not everyone has access to content on the Internet there is much censorship, to content restrictions for a reason.
Again nobody said it has to be responsible... There is a reason why cigs are legal ya know? Or alcohol?
If you want to believe that people should do what you say is right or wrong I am just so glad you aren't the one who makes laws, because your outlook is very bias towards yourself, not society as many in society like freedom you'll find.
If a 50+ man did it through AI good on him?
We don't live in a dictatorship, we have laws so that things aren't banned as if we are in one. And funnily enough banning adults from sexual stuff with other adults is classed as so to any reasonable person.
Otherwise where do we stop? By such logic let's ban all porn? Ban all strip clubs? Ban kissing? Oh sorry I mean for kissing but only if it's done outside or posted onto the Internet!
You'll just be creating dumb laws.
Asker1 yI think it’s funny how the gov banned tik tok for a bit but they can’t ban this. Banning all porn would be amazing! At the end of the day, it is your choice. However, those choices have consequences. Anything we do in private eventually affects our public actions and how we interact or perceive others. It all comes down to self respect, self control and being mindful of others and their worth and dignity.
- 1 y
Indeed but part of that respect is allowing adults to make their own choices with other adults.
No banning all porn wouldn't be... You would find out how much worse society is if that happened. Porn is an escape... What do you think happens without it?
I can tell you it's not good, lucky for your sake you'll never find out because the governments know it's an absurd thing to be tried.
Asker1 yBut what would really happen? You think men will just go out and hunt down women to rape because of uncontrollable urges? If so, that’s a low view of men. Hook up culture has the same problem. You don’t need sex like you need food. Real men and women have self control, self discipline and want to commit to someone before they share a very intimate activity that binds peoples souls. It’s literally one of the strongest connections you can have with someone and people just treat it as fast food. Look, I know that it gets very complicated with banning that sort of thing but i don’t think you can defend it and say society is better because of it. Sure adults can make their own choices but we don’t have to support those choices. Before the internet and before porn was so accessible through it, relationships were a lot stronger and intentional.
- 1 y
Well it wouldn't be quite so on the nose. It would be guys going to extremes to find it, not forced stuff nessarly more just ya know a lot more escorts.
Which then didn't actually change anything, and more women putting themselves out there does indeed increase their danger compared to make videos.
And I am sure some men would go for the force aswell.
And no you are wrong, before Internet and porn there is a lot of sex industries... It's the oldest profession for a reason... And most relationships like man and wife existed because men had jobs while women couldn't or weren't expected too.
Things are a lot different. Women had much less freedom you'd be disappointed to think otherwise, and it honestly could revert.
And there is also guys into weird kinks and fetishes again these all existed in the past but were harder and more riskier to get.
Now been so easy less sexual crimes are committed for sure.
Asker1 yI have read some studies that support that. You have a point. It’s really sad that one thing has to be allowed to decrease another bad thing.
Asker1 yWhich is greater - Lust or love? Porn is definitely not love- one of the greater relational experiences. Enjoy the shallow fulfillment that will never be satisfied!

Anonymous(45 Plus)1 yWhy do we need to stop it?
Asker1 yWell there are a lot of legal issues with actually banning it. However, there is hypocrisy of men complaining that there are no good women because it’s too easy to start an OF while they are the ones supporting them and enabling them financially.
Opinion Owner1 yStill waiting to hear a reason to stop it.
Asker1 yWhat’s a legitimate good reason not to stop it?
Asker1 y1. It has normalized sexually explicit content to be more socially acceptable and accessible. Young people, including minors, are increasingly exposed to or influenced by OF culture. Some may be drawn to the idea of making fast money through explicit content, undermining long-term educational or career goals.
2. There are serious mental health consequences for content creators and consumers. Burnout, body image issues, stigma, and isolation. Addiction, unrealistic expectations, and disconnection from real-life relationships.
3. Irreversible impact. Content posted online is rarely truly private. Individuals may suffer long-term consequences related to employment, reputation, and personal safety.
4. Misleading impressionable women or men into shallow empowerment. OF promotes a version of “empowerment” based primarily on physical appearance and sexual appeal. A lot of their lives are empty other than the fact they have a ton of money.
5. Despite age restrictions, minors still get access to it.
6. There are very weak restrictions on regulating non consensual content. Anyone could be in control of the account. It’s not always the person the content is about.
7. It destroys the dignity of real authentic trustworthy human relationships that society is built upon
