It may not make US news but farm murders have been happening for a long long time and makes our news in Oz.

As a Commonwealth country I am sad for South Africa. SA and Australia used to be peers but SA's GDP is only 1/4 of Australia's GDP now. It is becoming a basket case, joining BRICS etc. If commercial farms are replaced by tenancy farming, quite possibly SA will cease to be able to feed itself.

Zimbabwe next door is already a basket case. They can't print currency fast enough. A soon as they print some more high value bills they are worthless by the time they arrive on the plane. Hyper inflation.
