If you ask me folks, no advice, for me as a consumer, recently I've at my ripe old age of 31 and a half come to the conclusion lol that nostalgia ain't my jam anymore : you won't see me lining up for GTA 6, Final Destination 6, or Toy Story 5/Shrek 5, to me, those things I don't want to ruin my older nostalgia 😭🤣😳 as a consumer. So I'll start guessing them all and things like that are already past it before the starting gate lol 😞😆

I'd rather just enjoy the trends of the moment and embracing the present you know - much like how emerging countries China, Thailand, they're the brands I buy lol 😂😆 I don't still live in the Panasonic past lol 😞😆

Who cares. Invest your money where ever you want to invest it. At the end of the day the USA controls the energy, massive amounts of natural resources, massive amounts of human capital, has massive GDP, leads innovation, and controls trade routes with the most powerful navy in history.

It's years but it is already starting. So the USA has had the exhorbitant privilege of selling Treasuries cheaply for 80 years. That is already changing.

@bddddd do you think we'll ever in our lifetimes see a time where America has a really deep stock market crash that it doesn't bounce back from even if gullible folks pile in thinking but the dip only for the dip to just use the Aussie expression let it rip lol falls apart and I for one see China as the future and even Thailand, the UAE and our Australia and NZ and PNG. The rest of the world is still floundering around trying to work out what comes next. The euro is the most obvious choice as a reserve currency, but the yuan is a possibility, or maybe it will just be a combination of currencies. The yen could be part of a basket, etc.

I don't see the little Aussie battler (ie the Australian dollar) playing a large role.

I also don't forecast stock markets.

It took about a decade in the 1920s or so for the UK pound sterling to relinquish its position as the world's reserve currency.

@bddddd so where do you sit fellow Aussie in navigating this world, or as a consumer, or what's you're politics, you're outlook, your circumstances? Personally I'm a family man without a wife and kids of my own, I'm a straight single guy who supports family, friends, and myself. However I'm very much a progressive realist through to moderate progressive realist. I'm not money cheap, yet I like buying Chinese or Thailand for the value they are. Cheap, yet last just as long if not longer than the well known "western" makes. You know. I've had two Chinese smartphone phones in my lifetime and for my needs they've always excelled and note that they've costed or been on sale for only Australia "200-400" and the value far exceeds those "south Korean/American/Europe" tech brands who charges at least 700+ to even averaging or median price 1000. Lol and that's not in yen or Asian exaggeration currencies. That's Australian. So I'm glad I'm able to live my life as a modern consumer, and always a product of the times not chasing the times either ; note I don't but dirt dirt cheap, yet I buy cheap. Not even middle ground either. Middle ground is for tossers 😋😊

@bddddd even the car tyres tires Chinese proudly made no names costing about $89 Australia each, not the cheapest $45 each, yet the average western car tire make will charge $200-300 just for 1 tyre. Lol I could get $89 X 4 and even a spare for that for Chinese proudly made. And there again not even the cheapest because after all - I do value my brain in not being a cheap skate yet some might be out there and then they wonder why the cheapest they buy, breaks. 🥛🤍 Yet they have no brain for spilt milk. Lol 😆🤣 I'm very much a socialist man. Purely for economics and social policies, I've become a socialist by my 20s. I'm 31 now. After all - the "Republican" in America or the "Liberal" in Australia - those types don't believe in welfare safety nets, in community spending "survival of the fittest is what they believe" - ouch. I'd rather big government who helps me in life, not someone who doesn't lift a finger. @bddddd life is a mixture of knowing when and where and what for, to shop local small business versus big box retailers. It always depends and sometimes it's word of mouth, or luck, or all three. That's how I discovered cheap things like Chinese smartphones proudly sold in big retailers, cheap Chinese tyres tires proudly sold small retailers sure yet it's not the dirt cheapest $30 dollar tire yet even Chinese tires can go up to $140 potentially. I feel $70 to $90 and i hate the term sweet spot as that term has been taken over by conservatives, vomit 🤮🤢 and others, vomits - is the wisest owl for me pricing lol owl 🦉 so to speak ; car 🚗🚗🚗

Interesting question. ... one thing is for sure in my opinion if the USA continues to be an unreliable/unstable trading partner it will not do its currency or stock markets any good. The world will try to find safer more stable markets to do business in.

Hmmh.

After WW2, the US was last man standing and the Bretton Woods system was introduced in 1944 based on convertibility of US dollars to gold.

That lasted till 1971 when Nixon nixed that and the Plazza accord came into place in 1985.

2025 there seems to be another shake up required. I think see it in the light of another change being needed. The US can't continue to run trade deficits as large as it does and so it is necessary.

2025 is definitely a lesson that the world needs to prepare for the US stock market and currency to become less relevant. I personally don't like other stock markets as much as I like the US.
