It's hard to say because so much about China is opaque. China's demographics aren't even its biggest problem because its geopolitical rivals all have aging populations and very low fertility rates- it's the totalitarian system there. If China became, well, like Taiwan or South Korea, it would become the world's preeminent power.

The US is willingly removing themselves as the world's leading power by shifting to an isolationist country. China will likely emerge as the leader one day but the EU is trying hard to form enough coalitions to be a contender.
