Yes, the USA remains the world's leading economic power, yes they have a high-tech economy.

Yes, for the moment, the USA is the winner in the event of a war with China, because the USA has mass in its armies with a technological sophistication that no other country can match.

But in a war, it's the country with the greatest long-term production capacity that wins the war.

For the first time, the USA is no longer the worlds leading industrial power. How can they cope in the event of war with China?

A war with China will be an air & littoral war presumably. A major unknown is how well Chinese weaponry stacks up against US weaponry. Perhaps F35's can clear the skies or perhaps the J20 clears the sky of F35s. That probably comes down to missile capability but the same question arises.

Different if one launch is one kill or if 4 launches are needed for one kill. I think Taiwan is acquiring enough anti-ship missiles to sink about half an invasion fleet. Presumably the US has done calcs on air to air missiles needed.

We do know missile like javelin have long production times and long supply chains. China has large consumer manufacturing capabilities but does that translate to large military manufacturing capabilities?

I don't think we can know till it happens.

China can't afford a war with the USA. You remember USA deficit spending a large chunk is China investment. We go to war we take that IOU and rip it up as you do going to war. Also all the land China bought goes yoink under their feet.

Nearly a trillion dollars ahead of the war on day one. The population in China is not able to go to war. One child policy really did a number on effective population numbers. Means they got more old people then youngsters able to support the government and economy.

USA had the baby boomers that was a big push. China is off the scales and Nearly off a cliff.

USA still wins as long as its not a protracted war. We simply have the much better firepower. we spend way wayyy more on our military budget then they do too. There would likely be a lot of causalities regardless of who wins but in the end usa still pulls through in my view.

If its a protracted conflict like Russia in Ukraine or the usa with afganistan then that could really hurt us much more badly though.

Doesn't matter for many decades. The US has spent so much more money on military industry that it will other countries decades to even match what we are at right now if we spent nothing.
