That black people are impoverished not because socioeconomics, racism etc but because they blow every penny they get on overpriced consumer products, take loans they can't afford and don't save or invest for their future all to look like a baller.

In 2022 the black spending power hit a whooping 1.6 Trillion dollars? How much of that was spent Nike Jordans? 1 billion? How much spent on nails and hair extensions? On Mercedes? How much they spending paying the intrest payments on loans?

It's not that they are spending our money outside the black community that's the problem, it's that they spending it foolishly on crap they don't need rather than investing it in their own futures. Black Spending Power is just a pharse media people and community activists coined to make it sound like they oppressed but we got somehow got power due to how much money they blow each year. Nobody talks about white spending power or Asian spending power or jewish spending power, why? Because they save their money, they invest they money in bonds and shares, they get themselves mortgages rather than pay somebody else's mortgage with rent checks. You see a white guy or Asian guy he not spending $300 dollars on the latest Nikes made in a 3rd world country for a dollar, he might be driving a busted old Honda even though he making good money because he trying to get together the down payment on a house or start a business or get enough money to go to college. White women don't be spending $2000 per month on hair and nails. Asian people be pushing their kid's to do well at school and college.

They gotta look back and ask why all through segregation and Jim crow was the black community more prosperous then than now?

If you watch commercials now they are all aimed at black folks especially ones regarding loans.

I think the characteristic confidence and extraversion of some cultures pressures people away from secondary, tertiary, subtle, inferential, or unnecessary performative behaviours and streamlining them to only openly rewarded and explicit social functions, when its those invisible and silent functions that give you a strategic professional advantage over your competition and create the precursor conditions that precede later life skill development or enhanced job technique, this reductive social tendency to limit one’s experiential bandwidth at pre developmental ages in their career stifles their academic potential and diminishes their native born aptitude so that they do not actualize their great beauty as people. A simple change in developmental strategy could alter the premature stereotype of diminished employability among who with an established cultural praxis of social equilibrium and opportune data immersion.

Bad with money

Hundreds on sneakers they don't like wearing, expensive clothes, buying alcohol and drugs, child support payments and other things. My mother grew up hearing a term for their finance skills as "N" word spending.

Culture of single parent, welfare homes instead of a 2 parent house, a culture of not trying in school and looking up to being "gansta" instead of being a dedicated student, a culture of arguing and throwing tantrums when dealing with authority or clerks at businesses who tell them no or that there are rules they have to follow.

You see more of this stuff in their culture than you do in other cultures. With Asians (Chinese, Japanese) you hardly ever see it.

I know a marine who just got back from serving in Japan and he talked about how orderly and polite society is there and how he's immediately slapped in the face as to how rude and obnoxious and hostile society is here.

Anyway, on a macro level you don't see as many mom and dad households raising orderly, respectful, law abiding kids who become good members of society withing that group as much as you see it with other groups.

Hate to say it, but I really think it's long past the point where it could be because of socioeconomic factors. It's definitely their culture in general that affects it.

Also there was a study where they evaluated multicultural neighborhoods in both low income and high income brackets and black people performed worse in education in both scenarios on average. Even though they had the same income and same kind of parenting with no abuse, they performed worse on average. It could be assumed that they have a lower IQ on average.

I'd like to clarify I'm not hating on them. There are plenty of super intelligent black people in the world, but data doesn't lie.

My brother did a tile floor job for a guy from Nigeria. He came to this country from Nigeria 40 years ago, barely spoke English, and had like $5 in his pocket. He got some shitty under the table job, bought a watch, and stood on a corner in Compton California until he sold that watch. Then he did it again and again until he had enough money to buy a car and sell that. Then another car. Eventually he had his own car dealership, became a millionaire, and bought a fancy house by the university. He said anybody in this country who is an adult and able to work and is poor or broke is just a lazy bum.

OF COURSE, this doesn't go for ALL of them but there are quite a few that fit the bill. They're very bad when it comes to saving money, they'd rather get handouts than actually go to work. They tend to spend most of their money on booze, drugs, flashy cars, tons of meaningless gold jewelry, the latest styles of the most expensive clothes, the flashiest cars with the loudest sound systems, the oddest hair styles, cigarettes, and high dollar electronics. They never seem to think about saving money for later.

It's everything. in summary, culture. what started it, I don't know... certainly hundreds of years of oppression and abuse did not help.

Now because their culture is so often... crap... which feeds them more crap, they are self oppressing.

This is standard human though, trying to pull anyone out of waht is normal to them is difficult. That is true even when what is normal is terrible.

Where is the option "single mom"? Obviously a family with one parent earns less than 2 parents and many of that ethnicity lack fathers in family.

I doubt they get approved for loans if they are not earning enough, but credit card debt might be a big problem.

They have fostered a failed culture and most still haven't realized that by following it they end in failure. If white people stopped subsidizing black people's failure via social programs, then black people would start to die out and thin the heard until only the black people that didn't follow the failed culture remained. Then black people on average would be successful.

A combination , to have financial literacy you need to have been taught , but it's not just black people in USA you see the same thing with many from Isaan here also.

They associate brands with aspiration and money purely as a means to buy " stuff " , you need to be educated.
