Who is trapped? Israel pulled out of the Gaza strip in 2005, the Palestinians voted for Hamas to run their country, yes it's not officially recognized as a separate state, but that's because the Palestinians won't accept a 2 state solution, they want all of Israel..

But Israel still pulled back and gave them that land, if the Palestinians are governing it so whatever shitty conditions are because of their own elected government.. Hamas.

We are talking 2005 because that's when Israel pulled out of the Gaza strip. And that's when the Palestinians took over and started having their own elections. And they elected Hamas to run their country.

So what could the Palestinians do once they got their own land, maybe talk about a piece deals and a 2 state solution to end the conflict? Yeah good idea. Instead Hamas is dedicated to eradicate Israel. When that's your goal, you get a blockade, it's not complicated.

Besides the Gaza strip shares a border with Egypt.
