No, they're trying to prevent one- by any means necessary. For longer than the average human lifespan, they've been trying to settle peaceably with the Palestinians, and have paid the price in the loss of innocent lives. Now their patience has run out, and they're showing Palestine what "war" actually MEANS. They've been far too indulgent on people who sheltered (and then elected) civilian-targeting terrorists, and now the retaliation has to be extreme- their patience and kindness has backfired.

Those condemning them for it are those who have never seen war, and think of it as a faraway problem that doesn't directly affect them in any meaningful sense. That's how Palestine saw it. That's how almost everyone in the West sees it. But it's not- we invented set after set of rules to "civilize" war, but those only came after millions of lives were sacrificed- and if you cast all those rules aside, like Palestine has done, you're in no position to complain when your enemies throw them away to deal with you.

At this point, Israel understands that there will be no peace with Palestine while it's capable of fighting back- which means either they destroy that ability, or they destroy Palestine. Every milder approach has already failed.

Israel is trying to remove the terrorists and the terrorists are using innocent people to protect themselves. If Israel gave into the depends and gave a two-state solution Hamas would take over Gaza and commit more acts of terrorism Biden kept getting in the way of Israel. Trump is going to help Netanyahu defeat Hamas and take back Israel. It is a Jewish country, not Muslim. Israel will take over and protect it's people.
