Do you believe the saying “hurt people hurt people” is true?

It’s suppose to mean the people who go around intentionally trying to put other people down are most likely unhappy people themself.

I feel like a lot of times it is true, but sometimes like the other person that commented on this said some people just don’t have those social skills how to communicate with people properly, but I do see people that have been hurt lash out because they haven’t learned how to handle their hurt in a healthy manner so they lash out

Not all the time. I do think some people simply don't know how to interact with other people in a positive and meaningful way. I don't consider those people hurt, I consider them toxic.

I was raised that if you can't say something nice, don't say anything. But there are people that consider themselves in competition with everyone. And to those people relationships consist of two things 1. Is it good for me. And 2. Have I got the upper hand. And that is no way to live. It's not healthy. And you'll always be unhappy as well as the relationships you have if you view the world in that hostile way.

Oh yeah. All you need to do is look at the miserable "Karens" loose in the world. Or check out the crowd at a White Power rally or a tRump rally. All damaged people determined to ruin life for everyone else. At best, these people can't see how damaged they are and lack the social skills to function in a civilized society. At their worst they are making a conscious decision to be the biggest assholes they can be.

It’s relatively true. All anger comes from a place of hurt and obviously anger does the most damage to others in terms of emotions.
