I’d rather hear people say, “what you want to do in this life is up to you, as long as it is meaningful, positive, doesn’t hurt anyone, and you are respectful to others”.

I think going “men are the providers” puts a lot of pressure same if I were to go “women are the providers”. Just be true to yourself and don’t look for others’ validation because it ain’t worth it when it comes at your happiness.

No, it’s misandrist.
To your point, it might have been misogynistic generations ago, but we’re well beyond that time now.
That ideal is now a greater reflection of misandry. Women have been liberated from traditional gender roles, but men have not. The entire idea that men should pay, provide and protect is based on traditional gender roles that would, widely applied, universally garner attention for being “sexist”.

Ok it's not nessary a problem in of itself but life isn't fair and people like the man of the house dies from illness or environment tragedy is the family left behind supposed to die off too?

Having a game plan if something happens to you as the man of the house is apart of being a provider.

Times are changing even for old people but I find it attractive if a girl is able to provide for them self and if they have kids they can provide for them as well it is also attractive to girls men who can do the same as it gives some sort of feeling that they aren't really there for the help or whatever but it is there if you happen to need it as well as being able to spend more time loving that person rather than having a partner that is like another dependent to look after

It isn't really a belief system it's an evolved trait with belief systems surrounding it. I think people don't like to admit just how much human sexuality operates in animal mode. It's actually vile.
