US National debt to hit 37 trillion real soon. That will never happen again in the history of man kind. should we celebrate... and how?

President Trump is addressing the debt problem instead of kicking the can down the road. His bill cuts 1.5 trillion from the budget. However there are issues in America that need to be addressed. The military has been decimated both by lack of recruitments and the fact that billions in hardware was given to Ukraine and 82 billion in hardware was abandoned during the botched Afghan withdrawal. Also the Air Traffic Controller system needs to be upgraded. It is a miracle there have not been more accident that there were. There is money appropriated for border security and deportations' situation with an open border was the fault of a corrupt, incompetent president and the incompetent Border Czar and Homelsnd Security director. We have to pay to clean up the mess. This will pay dividends in the future when the taxpayers will no longer have to support all these freeloaders.
These estimates do not include the extra income due to tariffs or the extra income from projected growth so chances are it will not add as much to the deficit as predicted.
The good news is that these items onlywill need to be fixed once.

is it really worth it cutting the taxes on the weathy?
We will have to finance that debt... whom is gonna buy it... the rest of the world may not be as favorable as they were before... we will find out.
we may have to do bond drives like WWII as the debts roll over...

Every administration says the same stuff... and kicks the can.
I agree if the manufacturing is built... and policies remain stable to keep the jobs and development here, it will help defer the problem. That... is a big quiestion mark.

@lightbulb27 The tax cuts are mostly for the middle class and small businesses get a write-off on investment in new equipment. It is hard to cut spending but there has been a good start and more to come.
What we do know is that everything that Joe Biden did in 4 years was the wrong thing. Getting us involved in foreign wars, letting 20 million illegal aliens into the country and signing them up for welfare, declaring war on the energy sector, and printing 1.5 trillion dollars are all polices that the Biden administration did. It caused a lot of damage that needs to be fixed.

I would fix it with not having new projects to spend it on and paying back countries the debt little by little.

President George Washington wanted us to not spend like crazy with money we don’t have and payback the debts before they get out of control.

Hell, if we taxed the CEOs / large entities more we could use the money to pay off the debts rather than giving them subsidies, tax breaks, bailouts, and other government handouts.

It is not rocket science, decrease the new projects and increase paying back debt, though be able to get the money from somewhere efficient to get it done. That is what we need as a country. Very basic.
