Why is Newsome complaining about Trump when he isn't doing anything to stop the riots?

Newsome should be thankful to get Federal aid as he can't seem to stop the rioting. Frankly, I don't see him doing anything besides screwing up. First, it was the fires because Newsome was not being proactive in burning underbrush, even though Trump gave the state $Billions to do so for fire suppression. He probably spent it on illegals. Then he whines when Trump decides not to bail Calif. out. He can't have it both ways. Either work with the Federal Government in nipping the riots before they get worse as in past riots, or GTFO and let someone else be in command.

All I know is, when you have protestors in the streets, especially ones being a bit ‘difficult’, it is best to get as little Federal govt intervention as possible to keep crowds calm.

President Trump saw the civil unrest and decided the best course of action was to send in The National Guard which led to public outcry getting worse therefore tensions heightened. With rumors brewing President Trump would send in Marines, the protestors got more aggressive with their numbers which now President Trump is sending in 700 Marines which is escalating the situation not deescalating as we would like to see.

All this stemmed from ICE moving into LA to look for undocumented immigrants which led to protestors assembling against ICE and their actions.

Trump and his Border Czar are going to make empty threats of arresting Democrats to pour fuel to the flame of riots / outrage to stir a public narrative. Gavin Newsom is suing The Federal Government to make sure Presidential Powers are limited, that he can’t just send ICE wherever he well damn please to prevent abuse of powers never seen before in an apparent power struggle.

LA was handling this until the Office of The President jumped in, now look at the mess happening. People are shocked, but this happened in 2020 as well with all the protests going on. This isn’t new. There are case studies that go back decades and in movies, being the “strong man” doesn’t do anything but what will is decreased government involvement. I’d tell Trump to “get a grip”. That is what a real leader would do, unlike this bully.

I saw a literal clip of a reporter getting hit with a rubber bullet just for doing her job, reporting live on the scene. She wasn’t harming anyone, unless you count words hurting these thugs’ feelings. This is despicable, imagine if Obama or Biden did that in Ohio or Texas or Florida, there would be public outrage especially if they called for the arrest of Desantis. Pathetic, this is wrong.

The protests began due to federal agents going in and arresting and detaining people who were not causing problems and are not performing criminal acts. Some are documented and some are undocumented, but families are being separated and parts of them put in detention just because of their ethnicity. That is what the protesters are protesting. The police were sent in to keep the protesters from becoming violent. Then Trump sent in the National Guard and now he activated Marines. The National Guard is a bit out of their ballpark while the police have extensive training on handling protests and making arrests. The Marines have training and experience fighting wars in foreign countries. None of which is appropriate using here in the US.

Trump is creating chaos! Note that the unrest is contained to a very small part of LA, only a few blocks. As huge as LA is that is minuscule. The powers in LA have done a great job keeping the problems in a small area. Also, take a look around the country. Protests are going on in most states in many cities.

Newsom and the police are handling things well. It is Trump who is creating chaos there,

I dont think you understand how this works. The protests were already stopped long before Trump got involved. Trump and the "federal assistance" did not stop the rioting, it started them.

There is a very simple concept when it comes to these sorts of events. The increase in police presence and actions directly correlates to growing the protest larger and increasing the aggression of the protestors. Shooting pepper spray or rubber bullets into a crowd will make them throw rocks back at the police. Putting up a shield wall will provoke the crowd to mass there and antagonize the police. Any display of resisting the protest will have the opposite reaction and if you try to forcefully shut them down then they will return with bigger numbers.

What Trump and the federal government did in California is the text book example of how to grow the protest and turn them into a riot. Like literally, its in the military insurgency manual. Newsome had the situation under control and the protest was dying off before Trump came in and threw gasoline on the fire. Every time it looks like things might be calming down you see Trump add new provocations such as deploying the national guards or the marines.

Trump is directly responsible for this and nobody else.

There are photos and films on youtube of cops deliberately shooting rubber bullets towards news reporters and peaceful demonstrators. See for yourself...

Let's see, Trump sent in the military which can't even be used until they're trained how to deescalate. National Guard sent in without request, which is illegal. Newsome doesn't really have power beyond deployment of LAPD and asking for it to remain peaceful. Hard to do when ICE raids a Home Depot.
